From start to finish the care I received was second to None. From the time I entered the hospital, I was treated with kindness and respect, I counted at least 35 people directly involved in my operation (post, during and after) and care. All this took 36 hrs, a lot of people in such short time.clearly all were very busy and very dedicated, from top(Mr Akrawi) to the volunteer who took me for an x ray,

Following a previous consultant’s misdiagnosis and failure to resolve a long standing knee issue years ago, I was referred to Mr Akrawi in November 2021. He examined me and immediately identified an ACL problem with additional meniscus issues. This was confirmed by an MRI scan. I had my ACL reconstruction surgery 10 days ago and I’m delighted with the results. Mr Akrawi’s professionalism, diagnostic and communication skills and ultimately his surgical expertise are genuinely life-changing for me. I’m very grateful to him, as well as his support staff of anaesthetists, doctors, nurses and physiotherapists, all of whom provided me with amazing primary care. I found the service to be incredible, especially given the challenges facing the NHS presently. Mr Akrawi and his team at Raigmore are a credit to the NHS.

Mr Akwari has done both of my knees. He performed one in July last year. After 7 years of pain I was able to walk on that leg with no pain it was like a miracle! I required total knee replacement and alignment of the lower leg on both legs. He preformed my second one only 6 weeks ago and I am like a new person. I am off all my pain killers and can actually walk! I would like to thank him and his team for all the care and attention that I had received throughout both of my operations. Mr Akwari is an amazing surgeon and has the perfect bedside manner and aftercare. He actually does care about his patients which is really nice to see.

Seen by Dr Akrawi in raigmore hospital I had a knee cap displacement and severed patella tendon ( my knee cap was 3 inches up my thigh ) . 5 surgeons refused to do my operation ( seeing a short fat 61yr old man) . However Dr Akrawi seen a human being with an extremely complicated knee injury . He sat me down and went through the various options that he could do , Dr Akrawi told me of the risks etc but that he was confident of a successful outcome. Day off the operation Dr Akrawi performed a 6hr operation to reset my knee cap and graft part of my hamstring to where my patella tendon should be. After care was excellent Dr Akrawi even on his day of during Xmas and new year came to reassure me that the operation was a great success. 8 Weeks later I'm mobilising fully without any crutches or walking stick. THANK YOU DR AKRAWI FOR GIVING ME MY LIFE BACK
