I received great care from Dr. Peter Karpati recently during my breast reduction. He rang me prior to the operation and sent me on very easily to follow but comprehensive information about what would happen and the possible side effects. On the day of the operation he came to my room to see me again and went through my medical history to make sure I would get the most suitable medical treatment. He was very easy to talk to. Again in the operating theatre he was very reassuring. He rang me again the following evening after I had been discharged and the following day to ensure I was not in pain and that I was able to take my medication properly. He gave me a lot of advice on the different medications I was provided with. He provided excellent after care for me and I would be very happy if he was my anaesthesiologist in the future.

Dr Karpati had an excellent bedside manner. He made me feel relaxed before surgery and was very informative about the procedure and anaesthesia. I felt in very safe hands and was a pleasure to have a consultant with such good people skills. After the operation his follow-up care was excellent, frequently checking up on me to assure I wasn't in too much pain and sending me a clear pain relief guide. I would highly recommend him and am thrilled he was my anaesthetist during my procedure.

Dr Karpati was my anaesthetist yesterday and he was great. I was very relaxed about the procedure anyway but his manner made me even more relaxed if that was possible. I imagine he is amazing dealing with anxious patients as his manner is great and very calming. I hope that when I have to have the procedure again next year he is my anaesthetist again. Awesome doctor. Anika Bourley

In the consultation pre-op the information was clear and any questions were answered. I was nervous about the hand operation as I'd never had anaesthesia or an op before and Dr Karpati was professional if a little dry on hello, in comparison to other doctors and nurses. However when I went into surgery he came in very upbeat and funny, able to take my mind off what was going on around me, which seemed to happen very efficiently. During the operation Dr Karpati listened to me when I said I could feel sensations in my hand and seemed to respond accordingly. He was conversational, amusing and brilliantly distracting since I was awake for the op, the perfect remedy to take my mind off it. I left theatre saying I'd had a blast! I felt like Dr Karpati was my bedside buddy who helped me through the operation. Thanks!
