I attended in person and spoke to receptionist to request purchasing contact lenses which I usually receive through the post via Boots reward scheme (for which I pay a monthly fee). I explained I live in south of England but had travelled in a rush to Doncaster due to my mum being seriously ill, and I didn't have my lenses with me. The receptionist told me they couldn't do this and sternly told me that I should have an up to date prescription on my glasses (I had told her that I hadn't had chance to do this). The receptionist was unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful and condescending. I left feeling I had done something wrong. I rang Nirth Bridge Opticians and explained the same, and they couldnt have been more helpful. They not only arranged for me to pick up lenses that day, they also offered me an eye test that day as there had been a cancellation, so that I could get my glasses up to date. And finally, they also empathised regarding my mum. Total contrast to the other store. I wouldn't normally leave a review, but the experience particularly stood out.

I took my elderly Father to this branch of Boots opticians both for new glasses and hearing aids. All the staff were so helpful and professional, showing awareness of my Dad’s personal needs and reacting accordingly. I would like to make special mention of Kerry, Paula, Rubina (Optician) and Rhabia (Audiologist).

The staff and Optician need to correctly familiarise themselves with NHS free eye test rules or at least be prepared to listen to a patients view and possibly seek NHS clarity.I was 99% sure I qualified and refered back twice but the Optician was unrelenting and charged me.I contacted the NHS who confirmed I qualified and refunded the monies.

The store didn't open on time i.e 9:00 on a Saturday and the computers needed booting up. This seems common from previous visits at that time of day. Also on this occation the optometrist was 25 mins late and so the appointment seemed very rushed. I also think you need to make it clear there is a differance beteen an eye test and a contact lens test.

Yes, the optometrist explained everything fully. The machine for measuring pressure in the eyes was not working.

I went to Boots because I trust their opticians. I felt like the whole process from arrival impersonal and like cattle. I was shepherded from one machine to another with very little speech. The optician herself was fine. When I came out needing new glasses I felt I was railroaded and embarrassed into buying a very expensive pair of glasses. that I am not happy with or could afford to buy. I am classed as a vulnerable person, not able to work and registered with social services. I still feel too embarrassed to ring and cancel the order that I cannot afford. I will not use this branch ever again and may not use Boots again either. I would not recommend this Branch or service to anyone. I also feel this was a ambush and there was no attempt to consider what was affordable for me on a low income despite the assistant recording my HC2 certificate

My appointment time was 9am and I wasn't seen until nearly 9:20 in spite of being 10 minutes early. I will return to boots opticians as it is my preferred place to have my eyes tested but I find the appointments are nearly always late unfortunately, and I do feel the price is quite steep compared to other opticians.

Very polite staff and didn't have to wait around long for my consultation, a truthful response/answer from Paula when I was trying on many different frames. Excellent service I wouldn't go anywhere else for my glasses and contact lenses
