(Note: filled this in once already, but system seemed to fail) From the very start at reception, and throughout the process, the staff were very efficient, professional, kind and courteous. They kept me informed and involved me in the diagnosis. I was shown the X-Rays and the injury was explained clearly, along with the options for remedy. I was also consulted on these for my opinion. I was also kept informed throughout about the process, the next steps and the time expectations. The junior doctor told me there would be a case review and a decision about surgery. She later phoned me herself to explain that surgery was needed the next day. The waiting area was greatly improved by having a cafe. All together an outstanding service and team. They are an example to others.

From the very start at the reception desk, the process was very efficient and professional. The staff were friendly, respectful, helpful and courteous. They explained what was happening throughout the process and managed expectations about how long each stage would take. They involved me in the diagnosis, showed me my X-ray photos, explained the injury and the possible options for remedy. At the end of the process, the junior doctor told me the case would be discussed and I would be contacted with a recommendation for surgery. She later phoned me at home herself to confirm that I would need surgery the next day. The waiting area was clean and the cafe was a very good addition for people waiting to be seen. All together an outstanding service and team.

I have been treated with dignity and compassion throughout my stay in YDH. I feel all staff are kind and respectful and would go out of their way to make my stay more comfortable. My only concern is the inadequacy or rather the lack of training in adminstrating PCA on ward 7B which left me in severe pain for five hours until a suitable bed on another ward was found. I feel no one should go through that.
