Overall experience was fine.

Surgical treatment was great, however when waking up I was unaware of what was going on around me so was unable to listen or respond to much, and once I returned to the unit I had been told that the Doctor had spoken to me in recovery and not when I had properly come around. I didn’t appreciate this as I was very confused and didn’t know what had happened during the surgery. I even proceeded to ask the nurse when they doctor/surgeon was coming to debrief me.
I was also asked not even 10 minutes after getting back from the recovery room into the day surgery unit, if I could go wait in the waiting room for my lift home. I was appalled at this as I was in a lot of pain, still very wobbly, and not ready to walk anywhere and I was being asked to leave.

I would have preferred face to face appointments. It is difficult to interact over the phone.

I think it was was really good and nothing could have been better except of course car parking but that is a nightmare where you go in a hospital

It’s very good I feel like my emotions are being heard. Therapist listens to what I have to say and shows interest in it to. I also get weekly homework on things to practice when I’m during the week.

I was being understood and heard. This therapy has also helped me realise and understand why I am experiencing all of these now. I am also able to manage myself and I think I am going to the right direction as I have been experiencing good progress.
Suggested improvements
I understand that the consultation setting, which is through video calls, these days has been impacted by the pandemic, but I think it would greatly help to go back to face to face therapy if the patient prefers it. This will further contribute to the assessment process, especially with understanding the body languages accompanied that may or may not affect the patient’s current condition.
