I had the privilege of staying here in 2019 for over a week and it was like being in a 5 star hotel..had to go here as all other hospitals were full..food was delicious..rooms were better than hotel quality..the staff went and brought me fresh clothes and toiletries and tobacco as i was miles away from home and had nothing..this isn't a secure hospital and you can only go here if you are a voluntary patient or pay privately which i believe is about £900 a night..

Communication between staff poor. Treated with no respect and no understanding with depression only my drinking. Threatened me with my husband leaving me if I didn't comply. Ended up in NHS Psychiatric ward in local hospital No understanding of Long Covid despite the Consultant claimed to have the best understanding on her website which was why I traveled to Woking So much better through the NHS and still married! So many people told me not to go through reputation so I do question why there is no negative feed back

For mild addictions or personality problems this expensive so called "hospital" is absolutely fine - My adult son spent a week in crisis as a patient and was brutally ignored when his crisis became so serious that I had to take him to A&E after his suicide attempt . The Woking Priory wanted nothing at all do with anyone who really were in need of help - just wealthy teenagers whose families want to get them cleaned up for a couple of weeks with amateur group therapy sessions taken by unqualified "therapists" . Lovely , warm, welcoming place - but only if you are feeling a bit miserable or smoked too much weed . For serious help with mental problems go to the NHS - they WILL help you with kindness and compassion and properly trained mental health professionals and will not demand money "up front" . Stay away from The Woking Priory if you really are in crisis .

The priory is good for mild to moderate psychiatric illnesses or addiction. I would not recommend for people suffering from effects of trauma, PTSD or any sort of psychotic illness. They are not equipped to deal with any sort of medical interventions, eg low blood sugars in people going through withdrawal etc. If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, low self esteem and similar some of the group therapies are helpful - sessions on how to be assertive, time management, and things like that. But to be honest I would recommend just reading a self help book, rather than paying £1000 a day for this. Oddly they usually have tall, big men working the night shift on the women’s ward, doing regular checks throughout the night....a lot of the woman on the ward found this extremely distressing...if you have had any sort of sexual abuse/rape, having a man walk unannounced every 15 minutes into your room whilst you are asleep isn’t the best thing for recovery. The ward can be quite noisy at night with regular patient checks, and not getting a good nights sleep makes a lot of the patients symptoms worse, and can come out of the priory in a worse state than they went in. Most of the staff are fantastic, really caring and empathetic. There are the few that aren’t (usually the younger ones, or any with less experience). If you have insurance and treatment is covered I would recommend, but if you are self funding I probably would try somewhere else.

This center did not look after my brother with severe mental health issues. He managed to eventually run away. They clearly weren’t watching him as he rode horses bare back in a neighbouring field resulting in his falling over and hurting himself. My dad found him in the middle of the road in Woking. This center resulted in an even more deterioration of his mental health and I would NOT recommend. We are currently trying our best to get a refund for my brothers very short stay due to misconceived information being told he was in a secure unit being watched consistently, when evidently he wasn’t and needed better help.

I received exemplary care in facilities which were designed to support recovery. The team at The Priory, Woking were supportive and caring. The food was delicious and definitely helped to aid recovery. Being an inpatient enabled friendships with other residents to develop based on mutual respect and shared experiences which when at one's most vulnerable are so helpful. I would not hesitate in recommending the hospital.

Clear place that helps discuss and enable positive change in a time when things seem at their most darkest. Lots of different classes and approaches to getting better. While it may seem as a bubble at times, it is a necessary bubble that helps escape the negative situations you are currently in, and helps provide perspective within this.

I was never more comfortable with myself than when I spend time at the Priory. It was an education that still helps me through moments of depression. I thoroughly recommend it.

I have been in the Priory twice as an inpatient for psychiatric care. It is a really nice place to recuperate and rest, as well as when I was in severe need of psychiatric help, they were extremely attentive and looked after my every need, as well as reassuring my family and carer that I was doing ok. The food there is incredible and you are treated as though you are a hotel guest. The only downside is that you might put weight on while you are there! You are treated with a great deal of dignity and respect. There are some lovely indoor and outdoor spaces that you can relax in whilst still under the care & supervision of the nurses there.
