Review of 3D Ward - SBH written by a patient
13th December 2017

The facilities are excellent, the wards are large and bright and the catheter labs are state of the art. The staff are are always friendly, helpful and extremely professional with an added sense of humor. This was my sixth stay in Barts in the past two years and I was well cared for and even remembered by some of the staff as a previous patient. Having a heart procedure can seem daunting but the teams manage to put you very much at ease at all times. Being on a cardiac ward does require all the best technology for patients and staff, but one fix i would like to see is how the use of audio alarms could be changed so patients can sleep at night rather than a constant bleep every 30 secs which sounds throughout the wards.

Review of Cardiac Imaging (MRI & CT) - SBH written by a patient
9th December 2017

I attended for an MRI Scan around 45 minutes duration. I suspect after changing into my gown I waited around 20 minutes before being taken to the MRI Scanner. Could you install a screen in the waiting area so patients have an indication of the wait time?

Review of Transport - SBH written by a family member
8th December 2017

It is a constant experience of various NHS departments, including Barts Transport, to say they have no knowledge of this NHS place - they can't find it in their records, they say. https://www.nhs.uk/Services/GP/MapsAndDirections/DefaultView.aspx?id=46652 It's on your website, and it's there in real life, so your records are clearly wrong. (I'm being forced to give answers to questins below which I do not have answers to)

Review of Minor Injuries Department - SBH written by a patient
6th December 2017

I had an accident on the way to work, not far from the hospital. I was seen straight away by a nurse who cleaned me up and made an appointment for an x ray, which I duly had straight after. I was treated as a human being throughout the process and I am very thankful to the two nurses that looked after me. Excellent bedside manners and efficient. As someone who rarely has to visit a hospital, I was extremely impressed. thank you

Review of Cardiac Imaging (MRI & CT) - SBH written by a patient
3rd December 2017

The information about the MRI scan sent to me in advance was really helpful in preparing me. The directions were also excellent and I found the entrance first time. I was seen on time. All the staff I encountered were calm, friendly and kind. They took the trouble to manage my tendency to feel faint when giving blood and my claustrophobia. That really helped me not to faint and not to panic once inside the machine. This was the first time I'd been in the new wing - I found it to be well organised, pleasant, light (I love the atrium). I much appreciated the cafe after my scan as I didn't feel quite ready to go out into the hurly burly of the street.

Review of Clinic 8 Pre assessment - SBH written by a patient
3rd December 2017

I visited Barts on Monday 27th November under the care of Linda Thurston at the Pre-Admission Clinic. Linda patiently and considerately explained about the process I will be undergoing and directed me to several specialist departments in the Hospital to take a number of pre-admission tests, Blood, Lung Function, Neck Scan, ECG. The professional and considerate care I received from Linda and all of her colleagues was excellent and served to calm and placate my anxieties.
