Wife attended there to confirm a diagnosis of plantar fasciitis. After paying nearly a £1000 in 2 consultations an MRI and an ultra sound they wanted to charge my wife approx £350 for a guided ultrasound cortisone injection. We had however had an ultra sound before this and the consultant took £150 off the bill then because he wouldn't do the injection until she had an MRI and then after the MRI we were told it was still £350 even though clearly a guided injection is £150 as that is what they took off the last bill. Over inflated prices which dont make a lot of sense. We wouldn't recommend them as only seem to be interested in making as muxh money as possible.

The pre-operative care was very good and the overnight staff looked after me very well. However, the post-operative care could have been a lot better! I was left for long periods of time without knowing what was happening and when I would be discharged. Tests were not followed through at regular intervals causing an unnecessary delay in the decision to let me return home. The nurse responsible for my care was bossy and patronising and seemed more interested in holding conversations with other staff than to monitor my recovery. Leaving other staff to complete my post-operation care which she should have attended to prior to leaving her shift! The staff who took over were very kind and concerned but clearly had not been given appropriate instructions about the monitoring which had been ignored. I also was left with the door of my room wide open in view of hospital visitors on a noisy corridor so what is the point of having a private room, I might just as well have been in a ward in the nearby Maelor Hospital. .

I was not happy at all with the service the hospital provided. I arrived early in the morning, feeling very nervous for my op as I had never been to theatre before & I was alone as my family were in work. I was reassured beforehand that I would be in safe hands with the hospital staff and I would have my own private room to chill out in until I was called to theatre (this was any time that day) I was taken to my room and was positioned right next to a room where workmen were working drilling, hammering. Not only was I very nervous but I had paid a lot of money for this operation and the service that came with this & I could far from settle. Only then my doctor had to speak to the Spire staff to move me rooms (knowing it was my first experience & he could understand how nerve wracking it was for me) later that day after my op I was taken back to my room (new one I was moved into) and the nurse wheeled me in & propped me on the bed, she left the door wide open & advised me that she will be straight back with my lunch that I had ordered that morning. I was in a room on the main corridor with my door left wide open, very noisy, patients & visitors all looking in on me and I could not move to close the door myself (I was in a lot of pain, felt fragile & embarrassed) 15-20 minutes later no one had yet arrived & I started to need the loo, so I got up very slowly to use the toilet & shut the main door & returned to my bed. Another 20-25 minutes went by & a memeber of staff finally checked up on me, she then advised I was unable to get up or move on my own and if I needed something I should always wait until someone is present. I had advised her that I had to use the toilet myself because no one had checked up on me or advised me of this since my op which was around 35-40 minutes ago. 1 hour went by and I was then brought my sandwich which I had ordered (far from speedy service) I was then advised I was unable to leave until the doctor had discharged me. My partner had finished work by this point and decided to visit me to see how I was feeling and was really to take me home, the staff had taken him to my old room (1st noisy one) to only then realise I was not actually in there. My partner had to stay in the corridor until they eventually realised which room I was in (seemed like that had no idea I as even there) once he finally found me, I was told to wait for my doctor. 2 hours or so went by and I had asked a staff member when I was being discharged, she advised she is not dealing with my room & was unsure but she would speak to the member of staff that was and will come straight back to me. More time went by and still no answer, I was very angry by this point and I had managed to find the lady that was covering my room myself, she stated that no one had advised her I was wanting her and asked what I wanted. I asked again... when I will be discharged & her reply was 'I didn't realise you were still here, thought you had been discharged?' she then chased up my doctor up as she could see I was very upset and annoyed by the poor service I had paid such a large sum of money for. She then only returned to advise he left hours ago and had to search for another doctor to discharge me (who had no idea who I was) This experience still affects me to this day, I would not go back or pay those prices for such a poor service

Spire Yale hospital is wonderful. All the staff were caring and supportive as well as professional. I felt incredibly well looked after during my entire stay at the hospital, I almost didn’t want to leave! Every member of staff is lovely and made you feel safe and comfortable. I was left with the impression that they really cared and after I was discharged they told me to ring whenever I needed them, which I did and they were just as lovely over the phone. The nurses always made time for you and if you needed them they were there within seconds. Jane, Lynn and Kate were particularly brilliant and I’m so glad I chose this hospital and was under their care

My overall experience was good however I felt that my post op care could have been better. After surgery my room door was left open and the nurses station was noisy with the staff having general conversations. I had upper and lower lid surgery and had an ice pack over my eyes, I didn't receive enough information about what I was able to do post operatively. The staff were nice but it just felt like I was left to it.
