Spire Wellesley Hospital

My experience at the spire Wellesley Southend on Sea, was amazing I was having an MRI scan and I am extremely claustrophobic the staff there were beyond kind and helpful. In particular. George looked after me when I went to have my MRI scan. I can’t praise the staff enough for their kindness and help when I was so nervous, a big thank you for everything you did for me this morning. And of course David, who was also so lovely and kind

Came in for a same day procedure and am very pleased with my treatment. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean.

Arrived at the Spire Wellsley Hospital Southend Essex at 7am for a procedure, was told by the surgeon I was first on the list, five later I got my wife to find out what was going on and was told the equipment turned up late and now I was last on the list and was told it would be another 4-5 hours wait, i decided that was too long to wait, why wasn't i informed of this?, so i came home, bearing in mind I had fast the night before. After going through the complaints procedure and the Hospital admitting they at fault, they will not compensate me for this. Incidentally, I have been charged by the surgeon for a procedure that never took place, is this fair?

Everything is excellent

I had surgery at the Spire Wellesley in Oct 2025. Having never had major surgery before (at the age of 50) I was apprehensive and lucky enough to have my procedure done privately. From my initial consultation, to the surgery, post operation consultation and through to my physio appointment all of the specialists I saw were really wonderful and I couldn't fault the way I had been looked after. I would highly recommend the Spire Wellesley Hospital for any treatment that they offer.

Incredible service, I was absolutely terrified of surgery but the surgical crew, the nurses, everyone I met was so warm and friendly and offered me so much comfort. My anaesthetist Mr Coker and was so so fantastic with me I was absolutely terrified of going under anaesthesia until I met him he was so comforting and kind. I've never experience patient care like it, thank you so much to everyone!

My experience at Spire Wellesley hospital has been fantastic. All the staff have been so kind and helpful at every appointment from pre-op to operation day. I was made to feel so comfortable, very well looked after and treated with a lot of dignity.
