Review of Urology Procedure Clinic written by a patient

I can't fault the outpatients department I attended. I was there for a pre op appointment. There was no waiting, I was seen immediately. The nurse was really lovely, I was feeling a little apprehensive and she put me totally at ease. All in all a very pleasant experience thank you Kind Regards

Review of Eye Outpatients written by a patient

I have completed this survey with respect to the medical staff at QA. They are excellent. However, the attitude I met with at the reception (Wednesday 12th September, 0820-0930) leaves much to be desired. I was treated abruptly and made to feel as if I was a nuisance for wanting to organise my next appointment while I was there. The receptionist did not listen properly, was terse, bordering on rude, and I left feeling upset and unable to establish a normal conversation. I appreciate that she was busy, but have experienced this treatment on previous occasions, and conclude that it is an habitual response to patients.

I had a pre op appointment with Amanda Warren, she couldn't of been more helpful, and my medical history takes a lot to get through , all my questions were answered and I am fully ready for my operation .The waiting time was only around 5 mins off my time so no problems , the appointment wasn't rushed and was very relaxed. all medical staff need to be recommended at the QA.

Review of C7 written by a family member

Wow! What amazing care at Queen Alexandra and especially on wards c6&7. On the day of a life changing event for our relative we were called in asap. In the lift at main entrance I met a hcsw named Amber - a very kind and supportive lady who I believe was starting her shift on level e. Thank you Amber. The acknowledgement that I was upset and the offer a hug was very much appreciated. Little things like this make a huge difference and I hope you receive this feedback. On the wards everyone from nurses, health care support workers, doctors, cleaners, physiotherapists, the night nursing service (in purple) - everyone has been friendly, approachable, honest, supportive and caring to both our relative and our family. The offer of coffees and a camp bed have been very kind. The Oncall cardiology team and physiotherapist who came in out of hours - thank you so much! These two wards deserve high recognition of the amazing work they do. The staff should be proud of the high level of care they provide. QA hospital should be proud of their staff. A final mention to the front desk at main reception - the lady who did 4 nights in a row helped lift spirits and was very friendly on the way out after many long hours sat on the ward. We have a long journey ahead, but so far we are really positive about the care we have seen and received and feel reassured about our relatives future care where ever the path takes us.

As always, whenever I attend any NHS Centre I received nothing but the best care and attention delivered in a most professional, kind and caring manor.

It's very reassuring that we have great professionals at the day surgery who are very friendly and efficient. It would be great if the patients could be informed of an estimate time for surgery instead of just waiting in the room for hours. Definitely the waiting room could do with more comfortable chairs and perhaps they could consider to let one person wait with the patient until surgery.

Review of G5 (Private ward) written by a patient
5th September 2018

Pre Op - fine - no issues. Post Op, just lacking any support and information. Left on my own, no help or information. Bed not remade, after return from theater. I wasn't asked if was ok or needed anything. I had the thing that they move you about with, with handles on it still under me and lots of unnecessary bedding, I sorted this myself. I was struggling to feel better and eventually told to walk - which really helped but felt I could have been given this advice earlier. Disappointed really.

I have had cause to visit QA hospital in excess of 20 times in the last two years, including A & E , surgery and admissions. At each and every time I have had what I would describe as nothing short of the best treatment. All the staff from consultants down to the tea ladies are highly professional, competent, caring and perform their duties in a cheerful manner. During my stays in hospital the food has been excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending the hospital to anyone who has to go there. The ONLY problem is Car Parking!!!!!

Review of B7 written by a patient
31st August 2018

My stay on B7 was invaluable to me, I was exhausted, emotionally and physically, on Day 3 of my babies life, she had lost 12.1% weight and was struggling to feed. The team at B7 helped me to cope with feeding her, explained what was necessary and the best ways to achieve what was needed for my daughter, and also helped me with my recovery from the birth. The only part which wasn't great was waiting on the Paediatricians to discharge me but I appreciate they are busy people and we got there in the end. I honestly am so impressed and grateful for the care I received at QA, including the pre-broth classes, and the birth and after care on B5. The midwifery team were fantastic. THANK YOU
