I was directed to A&E by the community nursing team as I had a blocked catheter, unfortunately I was there for over 8 hours, at one stage I was informed there was no doctor in attendance, although I appreciate the pressure NHS is under I find this unacceptable
Excellent service from arrival to leaving having been treated very well by all the staff involved. At all times I was spoken to politely and my treatment explained along with the necessary medication and follow up treatment plan. I observed the staff being the same with all the patients I saw, despite many patients being incredibly rude, disrespectful and aggressive. My sincere thanks to the KG team, you are fantastic!
Everyone I came into contact with polite/caring and compassionate
Fantastic nurses & doctors
Because i was happy with the treatment.
I was left sitting for 7 hours with no update or anyone talking to me about what was going on i ended up self discharging at 8am (I arrived at 6.30pm the previous day) and according to my discharge letter on my nhs app i was discharged at 1am
Came in an ambulance with chest pains. When i arrived there was a massive que and was told i need to vacate the bed and sit on a chair when i could hardly breathe and on morphine. Waited over 4 hours and the doctor was still not able to see me. Third world countries have a better healthcare service!
My partner dropped me off at 6.45 am at King George's Adult day care dept, as instructed on 22-6-24 for surgery on my right hand. When she dropped me off she wanted to come in with me as she felt that as an 80 year old white man I would be overlooked, I assured her that would not be the case. The patients were allowed on the ward at 7am. Around 1 and a half hours later the doctors came to see me to explain what was going to happen and mark the area to be operated on. There were 4 other people in the section I was in. I waited and waited, the other people on the ward were attended to one by one. I enquired on several occasions when I was likely to be seen and was told " it should not be long now" I went out again to ask what was happening at around 1pm as I was supposed to be an " early admission" and was in some distress. I was not seen until around 2.30 in the afternoon, bearing in mind I had nothing to eat or drink since 6pm the day before.
I feel that as an 80 year old white male I was pretty much ignored for much of the time I was there. The entire ward was emptied before I was seen so why was I told to be there at 7am.
I eventually left the hospital at 6.45 after what turned out to be an extremely stressful time. I await any Comment.
I must add all the staff were very good. But the organisation was not.
