I was asked to go
In for a 230 appointment but ended up waiting over 4 hours to see the doctor.
When I went in at 230pm I was the 11th patient on the list so I could not understand how two doctors took over 4 hours to see 10 patients. I am also a health care professional so I fully understand how the system works, but it just seemed like everyone was taking their time without putting importance on the patients who were sitting and waiting. All the patients waiting were getting agitated and frustrated and not all the cases seems complicated so I could not understand the wait.
Good
My appointment was for 9.10pm. I was not seen until 11.45pm. I had my children with me who were needing treatment too. We left at 00.30pm. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable especially when in pain and lethargic due to a fever. The Nursing assistant knew I had a fever and I was not offered anything to bring it down during my stay. That was 3 hours with a fever. A tachycardic pulse112 and high BP because of my fever.
Very professional and helpful
From speaking to the Doctor on 111, the speed of seeing a Doctor at DRI and treatment were amazingly fast. Each member of staff was professional, caring and very reassuring in their communication with us.
WELL DONE - DONCASTER ROYAL INFIRMARY - and many thanks
Poor service
It’s a Type 2 Diabetic for 28 years
I was seen and dealt with in good time only problem was that I was given a prescription and couldn’t get it as it was at 9 o clock at night on a Friday so had to mess about finding somewhere on Saturday
Overall the experience was fine but although I had an appointment I didn’t get seen until 2hrs 15 mins after the given appointment time.
