I waited 12 hours for a call back from 111 and was given an appointment for 22.15. On arrival, the place was totally overwhelmed. We were told there were 350 people in front of us to be triaged. There was very inadequate space, no seating available. Children and adults being sick and clearly unwell. We decided it was unsafe for us to stay and I would likely be more sick if I did. The two gentleman on reception were clearly upset by the situation and were very apologetic- I felt very sorry for them faced with an impossible set of circumstances.
When I finally got to see a dr he was thorough, kind & very helpful. I’m an asthma sufferer so was concerned about my breathing & have a history of bad chest infections.
Cos you asked

Great service from Gp to 111 to urgent care centre.

Attended a and e as per Dr instruction 30.12.22 was directed to out of hours waited 4 hours then saw Dr who sent back to a and e. Discharged but following morning returned to collect antibiotics. A day later discovered that a and e had written wrong dosage onto packet. own Dr did not receive discharge letter until 5.1.2023 after I chased a and e for it. A and e phone lines are appalling 1st in queue ... ring on another phone 2nd in q...first phone then goes to ringing only..2nd phone to 1st in queue...not acceptable.
I was visiting friends for new years and was 4 hours away from home when I needed medical intervention. I went to Doncaster royal infirmary and it was very busy but within a hour I was in and out with a prescription. The doctor was thorough, kind and understanding and provided me with follow up instructions. The lady at reception was also welcoming and kind and helped me find where I could get my prescription with it being New Year’s Day.
Timely in horrendous circumstances
No long term conditions I'm aware of
