Second time I’ve had the misfortune to use your facilities, first time I arrived in an ambulance , after a CT scan I was offered a drink and sandwich , then dismissed, being told there was nothing wrong with me. After seeing my consultant in Cheshire , he organised an MRI scan , this denoted I’d had a stroke. The last occasion two weeks ago , I arrived at A&E with terrible back ache, the doctor who examined me, Sympathised with my condition, but didn’t organise a scan , just told me she’d contact pharmacy to administer codeine painkillers, I dismissed myself after waiting five hours .

I do not have a long term condition.

Suggested improvements
I could not fault my care, although I wonder if the 111 phone line is useful as I waited several hours to be told I couldn't not be helped and world use 999 which led to paramedics visiting and being taken into hospital

Prompt holding experience Initial phone conversation was investigative and compassionate. Information given was appropriate - and care pathway clearly stated and provided. Waiting times were within acceptable limits. Care given was professional, compassionate and respectful.

I do feel, although understand impact of budget cuts, that the fabric of the facilities could be better presented. Ie the presence of cleaning staff at all times to be freshening up and cleaning would be the optimum. I am certainly not saying conditions were dirty, because they weren’t, and as stated I understand the limited amount of funds the Government provide has to be spent in the essential medical care. But these facilities are used 24/7 by hundreds of people in a day and as a society we aren’t very good at cleaning up after ourselves, seemingly preferring that others do it for us, which leaves public areas sometimes less than ideal. A sincere thank you for the care and expertise you provide.

Appointment booked by 112 for 7.30. Waited 2 and a half hours! Told if I went and came back I would lose my slot. When you have a ragging water infection and ckd you and feel ill it's not what you expect for a booked appointment

Suggested improvements
Air conditioning, extra seats all down the corridor. There was old ill people with no seat. More doctors on call

The only thing I was missing is more detailed explanation to what was wrong with me, and wish doctor shared my xray results with me, which i requested… I cant get any help from my gp, so i need xray results for myself as i only have one option - go and treat my back privately as i cant get an appointment with gp. But you guys were all amazing at the hospital, i had soo much respect, no one made me feel bad

Suggested improvements
Everything was perfect, wonderful staff who are so genuine and were happy to help me, no one walked past me without asking if im okay. I was in so much pain i couldnt stop crying, but staff made me feel safe and tried to make me smile. Wish all other hospitals were like this.
