I waited 1.40hrs over my appointment time . I was given a prescription and shown a chart of available chemists .After driving round for 1hr to various chemists which were all closed I was finally advised by 8-8 service that yes everyone in Doncaster closed at 6pm . I should of been given this information at the urgent care clinic. I would of been as well seeing my own Dr the next day . Useless service

Suggested improvements
Better knowledge of services available/ not available to patients. Keeping to appointment times would also be great , sitting for nearly 2hrs waiting when you feel ill is not great

All of the statements were true but did find that I had to answer the same questions twice., once with the nurses and again with the doctor. Time could have been saved by only seeing one person, preferably a doctor

Suggested improvements
There were people there with babies and young children, it didn’t bother me but I felt that by seeing them quickly rather than in order they wouldn’t get agitated and cry as much and the atmosphere in the waiting room wouldn’t have been s tense

I was sent to the urgent care centre from 111 but when I arrived, I was told that I did not have an appointment and there were many other people on their phones in the same situation. I centre was overcrowded and there was nowhere to sit. I then got a phone call from 111 telling me my appointment was made incorrectly and I would need to wait several hours if I wanted to be seen. This was not an option for me as I had a 2 day old baby that I had left at home (I was seeking an opinion on suspected DVT in my leg following giving birth to my daughter). I ended up leaving the centre and going home with no medical advice and just hoping that I didn’t have a blood clot.

Suggested improvements
Given me an actual appointment. Perhaps disband the 111 service who were at best pointless and at worst a hindrance who I had to call 3 times throughout the day and each time answer the same questions with no consideration of my medical context.
