It is an appalling system having to wait hours to be seen and then having to travel to the hospital late at night in the dark and on your own. The Doctor who actually saw me was very good. The receptionist was very cold with me as I do not wear a mask or a visor as it causes me panic attacks. Being treated in such a manner when you are not well is unkind and unnecessary. I can understand why people do not go to the hospital to seek treatment under the Outbof Hours service. It is not a patient friendly system/process.

Suggested improvements
A new system for Out of Hours. A non judgemental receptionist.

I needed a astma inhalor due to having a inception. I had called out of hrs gp. Who sent me here. I knew I had a viral infection and as a staff mense at dri didn not want to attend. So to be rudeley told I should have not attended as I was a server risk of passing on covid (even know I've negative pcr and lft) and I would not get a full examination becous I was a risk. I've have never felf so ashamed in all my life. As ashamed to call myself a staff member working along side people who can talk to patients like this. When you are struggling breathing and have tried not to leave the house in the 1st place. You need someone with campation and not a attitude.

Suggested improvements
Not teach everyone like a piece of dirt.. When I knew it was exabtion of my astma.

The staff were good professionals and I was only in the department just over 2 hours. The appointment time I was given was running late but that was ok

My partner took me in to a&e following a bleed and pain at 10 weeks pregnant. We were seen very quickly and all the staff we saw were compassionate and supportive at a very difficult time. My partner was able to stay with me which we were very grateful for.

Suggested improvements
My only suggestion would be that I wished the doctor and nurses had prepared us more for what was likely to happen when I miscarried. I think at the first visit they were trying to help us stay positive until further tests showed if a miscarriage had taken place but this left us unprepared for the level of pain and bleeding that I then suffered during the following night. We felt there must be something ( other than the miscarriage) wrong, that this couldn't be normal as it was far worse that the period like cramps they had mentioned, which is why we came back to a&e a second time. I later read accounts on the miscarriage association website of other women's experience that were similar in both the level of pain and feelings of being unprepared. It might be the last thing that a pregnant couple want to think about but knowledge is power and feel it would have helped us understand what was happening. Many thanks.
