Very caring Dr who listened. Reasonable time wait.

I think there should be a blanket rule on mask wearing. And correctly. There were 10 people. 8 wearing a mask, 6 of them on their mouth and chin. Not acceptable in a hospital environment. Also, people playing loud comedy video on their phone with some offensive language.

I waited an an appropriate time before my appointment condsidering how busy the service is, 30 mins after appointment time. I was assessed in a timely manner.

Suggested improvements
The communication was a little bit strained as it can be difficult to hear what is being said with the masks.

The Doctor I saw was really nice. She was friendly and did all the basic checks I expected but she was unable to do anything other than prescribed 1 days worth of painkillers which I did not collect as I pay for my prescription and at over £1 per tablet is ridiculous. I was advised to call my GP the next day which I did and got the referrals I feel are necessary. I do not understand why the Doctor I saw at urgent care could not have done this? I think we were both frustrated by this and I believe it was not only a waste of my time but also hers and certainly a financial waste. Maybe the NHS would be in better financial shape if I didn’t need to see 2 Doctors for 1 complaint!

Suggested improvements
Give urgent care doctors more powers to treat the patients appropriately. Maybe there is a valid reason for my experience but it seemed like an expensive box ticking exercise to me.

Doctor called me really quickly after referral from 111. He was polite, lovely and understood that I needed to be seen quickly. I was put at ease and seen by him within minutes of me arriving at the urgent care centre.

Honestly nothing, the service provided was amazing. I’m from the Midlands, I was up north visiting family when this happened so I’m really happy to have been in a different part of the country and seen so quickly!

I have been struggling with the NHS for a lot of years I originally had stiffening the liver and fat into the liver multiple spinal injuries which was classed as moderate to severe I have been left by the NHS for all these years with minimal help also so with conflicting reports and instructions from specialists doctors of which I've had to get to the bottom of my own condition and stand up to certain doctors who who could sever my spine I have also been left traumatised by my whole experience with the NHS and DWP and left in poverty throughout the whole experience unfit to work to the whole time I'm I have not worked since 2017 hopefully the specialist I saw 2 days ago go has shown that he has the ability to get me through the situation I'm on a slow recover recovery and hopefully I would like to get back into employment yours Stephen Lodge

I was old on the 13th of December at 9 a.m. by the specialists at Doncaster Royal neurones disease I understand due to the test they did on me muscle strength and nerves it was complications I had to pay for a private specialist to tell me I didn't have your own disease of which cost me £660 I also have to specialise willing to place of which cost me £440 in January 2020 and tell my children I had neurones disease which was heartbreaking for me it seems that some of the specialists in the past have not been quite fluid up on the full situation of my spinal injuries and the complications with stiffness of the liver and fattening of the liver some GPS also was not clued up if he's areas maybe if the notes from already available and somebody's information was at Hull Royal Infirmary I was expecting lucky to survive as with the sticking of liver I was told I could have a little as two weeks to live no I am here to tell the tale. I have been left traumatised by my whole experience I have also injuries to my right leg right shoulder neck I suffer with severe migraines which stress does not help a lot of it is down to financial lack of Help from our government and the policies in place for the lack of policies in place also the NHS should be putting protection in place for patients like myself for it never to happen again I hope this is some help you all

It’s a lottery. Once you get sent up from A&E you are on your own. There needs to be more people talking to you. You see lots of nurses milling around but it doesn’t help the wait time. One person can see a doctor, come out and then there’s a 15 minute wait until the next goes in.

To make the hospital aware of improving and also provide guidance and help for people with autism like me.

I was given ibuprofen and saw a nurse in the urgent care unit. She told me there is nothing she can do although I came to the hospital because something seemed to block my lower back and I could only walk 90degrees bent. I was told I can get naproxen. But had to sit and wait one more hr. in immense pain because staff was unable to print the prescription. When they decided after one hr to write it via hand I was told that I can’t get the meds in the hospital because only hospital patients have access to the pharmacy. They said I have to go and pick it up somewhere else. That was not possible for me as I was not in the state to walk on a street and I don’t have a car or family who could have helped me. So I was left in pain and staff didn’t give any thoughts of how I can be helped. I should have had an x ray in my condition as something blocked my back and preventing me from walking upright or move or sit in a normal way. Unbelievable how bad this service was !! I called to make a complaint and was cut off in the middle of the sentence to be told to write an email instead. It’s just rude! I feel more vulnerable in this hospital than at home.
