The Dr who treated me was great.

Appointments were running a little after time, but it was really busy and I understand there is very little that can be done about this.

The practitioner was very welcoming and supportive. She listened to me and understood. She also told me about the service and how I could access it.

I rang up firstly and was told I didn't meet the criteria to ring my GPS. I did, they were closed so I went through NHS111 who referred me back to the service and then I was seen. For me it's the clarity of who can use the service.

A text with the address would be helpful. Similar services such as iheart barnsley have that facility but when visiting the same day health centre for the first time I asked for the address to be sent by text and they said they weren't able to.

The gentleman on the front desk ignored me for several minutes whilst I was stood waiting to be checked in. There wasn’t even a basic courtesy shown by acknowledging my presence and saying he would be with me shortly. Manners cost nothing. It was also disappointing that I had to wait until 40 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. This is baffling considering there was only person in front of me and I had the waiting room to myself for a good 20-25 minutes. It would have been appreciated, if a staff member advised that there would be a delay and to apologise for this. However the nurse practitioner did apologise for the delay when I finally went in.

The nurse I saw for chest complaint/asthma did not know about symbicort SMART regime and reprimanded me for having used my symbicort inhaler more than twice a day (5 times that day), which is acceptable usage in asthma worsening.

Educate staff on common asthma regimes and use of combined inhalers as relievers (MART regimes)
