This experience was one of the worst I’ve ever received. And not just in a health practise.
I was advised to west a face covering before entering which to me is an important request. When I first arrived which was forty minutes early, I stood near the door and before I had time to press the button for the door, your staff buzzed me inside and opened the automatic door showing decency.
The receptionist and her co worker though, sat together after I checked in having a strange discussion about the poor service that patient had received from an ambulance. Then, four people entered the reception area as patients none were wearing a mask. Then a mother and her three coughing kids entered without a mask.
I was seen early. I heard my name from a nurse/worker who stood next to the room door as opposed to coming to introduce herself to me in the reception waiting area. (good job I’m good at finding things)
She rudely asked me what the urgency was. I took my coat off because there’s red blood dots on my skin which is spreading. I said I’ll have to show you. She repeated herself several times (like I’m a criminal for being able to walk and not looking unwell)
I showed the skin rash to her by lifting up my t shirt to which she stood back looking disinterested and asked ‘what am I meant to look at what is the urgency’ I replied these marks on my skin I’ve been advised in recent years to keep away from sun exposure. She took one look stood two metres away and said no it’s nothing we can help with. I insisted she looked correctly. She said I don’t believe it’s anything sinister. I wouldn’t say. And to go to a GP etc.
I wasn’t registered with a GP because of moving addresses and have issues with the registration process which is why I’ve struggled to get an appointment in over a year. Red blood dots pin point spots can be something serious in fact lots of possibilities. Cancers, issues with blood anything really. Hardly reassuring someone saying they think (must have 20/20 vision) they’re nothing nasty and I might need a skin specialist! What a waste of time.
That was that. I saw myself out.
I was seen on time, and they were polite and involved me in their reason for a particular diagnosis and treatment for me. They made me feel comfortable and respected.
I rated low on the food question as food wasn’t needed for me and therefore can’t rate this service
got an appointment
Used this service as no doctor’s appointments available. The lady at the desk was super caring and helped me to arrange a same day appointment as I’d been sent there (incorrectly) by my Doctors (Scott Practice)
The ANP who saw me disregarded my sore throat as viral even though I tried to tell him how extremely painful it had been, I cried because he told me to go home and go to bed and I knew I needed help, I had a swab done the following day that confirmed strep throat and 10 day course of penicillin. It worries me that he didn’t seem to see how Ill I felt, I knew it was more serious and had I not have sought further medical advice the day after then it could have become a much more serious illness
Diabetes is the only major condition I have.
Was told to go straight to hospital as they didn’t know what it was.. Went to my own doctors and got a proper examination, hospitals are struggling without every person being sent when not an emergency …
I wasn’t clear why I was being treated for a UTI when I had kidney pain.
I was told to call my GP on Wednesday but by Monday my symptoms had increased quite significantly
The person I saw was thorough and explained everything. Apologised for running behind time wise and was just generally brilliant all round.
Happy with the service provided. Good place to go and friendly staff
