I required medication after a positive PEG swab. The PEG nurse had emailed my GP surgery on Friday lunchtime to ask they to sort this out by COP for me to pick the prescription up on Saturday due to going on holiday. This didn’t happen I had to contact 111. Surprisingly the surgery did contact me on Monday to make an appointment with a GP to discuss required action, sadly all a bit too late

From the start the phone call the call handler was so caring and compassionate made me feel totally at ease . She gave me an appointment for 10.30 I got there a little early but was checked in by a lovely lady . Nothing was too much trouble. I was called in to see the health care professional and was made to feel at ease , once again she was so caring as I’d had 3 close family members pass away in 8 months last year she was lovely . I was happy with diagnosis and treated with antibiotics. If I couldn’t get into my gps again I wouldn’t hesitate to ring them again. I’d rang my gp day before and no appointments also that morning cued from 7.45 got to the desk at 6 minutes passed 8 no appointments. I knew about this service from the well informed staff at our local Boots chemist . Thankyou for all your help.

The doctor I saw was very polite and he reassured me greatly. I received a very good examination and and he put my mind at ease.

The only negative comment I have is regarding the time I phoned 111 around 14 -30 Saturday and I was told I would receive a call within 6 hours, it was 04-55 Sunday morning when I received the call but I have to say I was given an appointment later that morning.
