Slight mix up re timing of procedure. Changed at 7pm the night before. I live out of London and have to take a train. I was asked to come in much later. Then received a call on the day of procedure asking me to come in earlier as the list had changed again. Not so easy for me as I was on the tube when the message came through and I had already changed my travel arrangements to meet the later time for procedure.
Excellent team of nurses and supporting medical staff
My several requests for a cup of tea at 0600 on 16.8.23 from the "all day and night" menu was completely ignored. Indeed, I did not receive any drinks until my pre-ordered breakfast arrived at 0730.
When I was discharged by my consultant at 0900 on 16.8.23 I had to request a nurse remove my cannula several times before anyone attended to me, despite a nurse in stationed directly outside room 519 (in dark blue uniform) reassuring me that i would be seen to directly. She then disappeared!
All the staff were helpful, professional and kind and there was a good team effort.
Also the CT scans were done quickly and efficiently and reported on within hours!
The service was excellent throughout
My nursing team Arvin, Michael, Ram and Amelia looked after me very well
Amazed by service and facilities and speed
Answers given in line with the care and friendliness shown by care givers except in one minor case but one failing. Visitors do need to be given access to loved one even though it may breach the visiting hours policy. Nobody whose loved one is undergoing life saving surgery needs to be told "You can't go in. It's company policy".
I was treated with the utmost care and consideration All staff were kind and caring. Everything was taken care of
Personally, I don’t think the service could be improved - it was first class !!!
It was a great experience. Even being booked in urgently that morning I received extra care and support and was made to feel comfortable.
