Dr Johnson was very accommodating and put me straight in for the procedure. Every other consultant I spoke to wanted to go through the whole process of scans etc again.
I asked to stay overnight as my insurance had authorised a stay and I was accommodated at short notice, looked after and cared for by the nursing staff.

There was a distinct divide between the surgical and anaesthetic departments who were brilliant and could not have been better, and the nursing scheduling which was chaotic and inconsistent. On the day of admission I was confronted by at least 20 different personnel before reaching the theatre, many asking exactly the same mundane questions even though they had all the relevant information on their computers.
Throughout my relatively short stay I was confronted by changing faces of nursing staff almost hourly with no feeling that they fully communicated with each other or had addressed the notes that had been left. I would have to explain over and over again what was needed. Whenever a new face appeared declaring that "I'm the nurse that will be looking after you for the day" I would often not see them again. The quality of listening, knowledge and understanding varied also, one nurse not understanding the difference between bladder and bowel (yes, really!)

the fact that i could have all blood tests and scans and procedures ODG and Colonoscopy together as I come from afar - BEDFORD
would be good if you had your own attached hotel!
