I was seen by the nurse and my dressing was changed and I was advised to make an appointment with my primary practice for a week’s time

We were listened to and assessed quickly without having to say very much at all the nurses doing the triage noticed that my son’s arm was broken straight away and he was given excellent treatment and care

Suggested improvements
Perhaps a system of issuing queue tickets. This would give patients a clearer idea of how long their wait will be. This would help with general anxiety and also when deciding if it is appropriate to buy further car parking tickets, get some food or drink or take a toilet break.

Nothing about my experience at Abingdon MIU was acceptable, believable and actually dangerous as far as care from injuries is concerned.
The system and waiting time is worst than a 3rd world country and will cost the NHS money in the long term with accountability for unnecessary deaths and increased costs due to untreated issues due to lack of care initially.
I had to get a private tetanus jab as the NHS unable to provide me with one in a reasonable time scale. My doctors a as are Newbury st practice Wantage are rated in the worst performing practices in the country ( in the worst top 10)
What have I paid my NI contributes for
My mum was a SRN and worked for BUPA and she would be horrified to see what’s happened to our health care

We were given the wrong direction as to where to go in the hospital. Wasn’t told anything I didn’t already know when I saw the consultant! All I wanted was some Antibiotics to last me until the Monday for which we had to do an 80 mile round trip for.

Your 111 service had no idea of the area. As the chemist remarked to me, ‘You have come along way’ ! When we are only 5 miles from Reading and could have easily seen a consultant there! also got Antibiotics from there!

not really anything was good i have raised a complaint about staff with PALS

see above complaint has been raised. also found from the reply to the complaint to PALS that lots of people are contacting PALS. i am deducing from my experience that lots of complaints are being made due to substandard levels of care.
