I only ring the surgery when I really need an appointment. To have to go through DrWood telling me about covid symptoms and on line services even before I get through to the queue for my call to be answered is infuriating. Everyone knows the pressures on the NHS and the individuals who use it for very minor issues need to be told in person, not to waist the doctors time.

When phoning the surgery, cut out [name removed] [name removed] automatic recording. Play some different music while we are queuing

I didn’t speak to the receptionist but Dr [name removed] was lovely.

On this occasion an appointment was easy to obtain as I needed another visit after already seeing a doctor but generally I do feel anxious about ringing the doctors for an appointment as sometimes I’m not sure my ailment will be considered serious enough for an appointment so I find myself leaving it longer before I ring. Whilst I realise before covid people used appointments for trivial ailments I do think patients need reassurance that’s it’s ok to ring for appointments and not feel guilty about ringing. I wouldn’t even mind paying sometimes for an appointment to put my mind at rest if needed.

Excellent communication from the start, offered an appointment next day, Dr [name removed] was friendly and thorough and explained everything to me.
