I do not like the new telephone system for appointments where your receptionist asks for details of your symptoms. It does not give a better service on this occasion I was offered a telephone consult with a Dr Singh as I was still waiting at 1.15 I called the surgery only to find it was closed for staff training which was not told to me when I phoned. It also took 10mins to get an answer to my phone call which I would expect with the receptionists having to take more time on each phone call. I did explain to the receptionist that it was not a virus or cold/flu symptoms and not easy to explain clearly. I feel that this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with this surgery and I have been a patient of yours for more than 25 years. I do not make unnecessary appointments and have only been to the surgery for things that could not be treated by over the counter treatment.

My experiences have been all good, the staff Dr's and nurses are alwayshelpful and caring, what more do we need. I thank them very much and take in treats every now and then. I think te receptionists are so good for taking all the flack from some of the patients. I didn't do excellent across the board, as we can always improve all the time.

I have complained about this issue before, when coming into the surgery both receptionists are busy taking calls, therefore leaving patients time after time just standing there. I came in yesterday, one receptionist was busy with a patient face to face, and the other was talking on the phone, and when she finished that call proceeded to take another one straight after, leaving the que of visitors getting longer! I found this both rude and inconsiderate,! when previously Ive complained, I was assured that all incoming phone calls coming into the surgery would be taken on phones at the back of the reception area, therefore leaving customer facing staff dealing with visiting patients. I feel perhaps a training session aimed at customer service would be ideal, the staff look very distressed and pressurised, and clearly cannot cope as their behaviour indicates

For a busy surgery they are helpful and can usually find an appointment as needed. The phone system seems more complicated than it need be - do they really need these tiers of options?
