Having to wait 17 days under a triage system is unacceptable.

I had an appointment at 10:40 today at collington surgery and after waiting 20 minutes the receptionist advised I was next after a phone call. After another 20 minutes Dr Cockroft Came and toom another patient (the wrong one according to your receltuon) and advised me there's a 40 minute delay. Considering I'm currently being monitored for high blood pressure and am battling anxiety within myself, I found this more than I could bare. When I advised the receptionist I had just seen Dr Cockroft taking another patient she condescending told me I was wrong and advised me "there are a lot of people working here" her overall manner is less than helpful to someone battling to keep their cool. I advised her of my mental distress hut she didn't seem to care and kept me waiting until, finally, she did as I asked in the first place and said someone would call me. I'm sick to death of collington surgery. The whole practice has gone downhill since the merge. Today I am finding that is is affecting my ability to function, as I now need to spend time to try to bring my breathing back down from anxiety/panic attack levels and am notlw going to need to work to lift my mood. The NHS is supposed to care and support, yet I see little of that.

Suggested improvements
Run a proper surgery with staff who A know how to speak to people and B cam choose the correct patient from a list. It concerns me that your doctors are allowed to cherry pick any patient willy nilly.

So I have been a patient for several years and always been treated with great care and respect. Most of the girls answering the phone are wonderful and I must mention Helena who is just amazing caring kind and patient so thank you . My Dr is Sunita Kotcha who is a brilliant Dr and listener and always has time to re assure me. Have also seen Dr Madonna and Dr Sing both lovely helpful snd thorough. Love being a patient at this practice we all know the NHS is under a lot of strain but loving the new triage phone call system I think its really helping and takes the pressure of panic calling at 8am so thank you so do much.

Just a point in terms of one of the lady’s who took a call from me when I was chasing up a follow up call from the doctor with regards to queries with some blood tests that I had had done when I attended Aand E I couldn’t make sense of the results on the NHS app so rang to get clarification from my Doctor who actually was going to call me back, however when my doctor hadn’t called me back after lunch, I called the surgery back to check I was still on the triage list and the lady told me that if I’d had the blood test done at A&E, I should be phoning them! Which really isn’t something that should have been said to me because at the end of the day A&E would not be answering a telephone to give people blood test results! I did explain this to the lady and she backed down but really that is not something that should have been said to me at all and I was upset at her comments as it’s really frustrating to be told things like that because at the end of the day, the doctor is more than happy to discuss those results with the patient which indeed my doctor did call me back about 10 minutes later and go through them which reassured me so I really was not happy with that part of the service. Perhaps that could be mentioned to your cool handling team.

Very positive experience as someone new to the practice. Nurse Tracy was friendly & helpful. I’d gone to have my ears syringed.. She was persistent & successful, which has contributed greatly to relieving my hearing loss.
