Since we signed up 40 years ago - at all stages Richmond Medical Group in Kew have been amazing. They are brilliant - the new surgery is great and you are always greeted with a warm welcome from Reception of whom I can’t speak highly enough - the Docs are top notch and all I can say is thank you - from us and the children (who are all grown up now). Doctors: Good Reception: Not nice or efficient Healthcare Assistant: No training/unhelpful I find it sad. I don't think there will be any change due to arrogance and an unwillingness from the management, to look at the problems which exist. I guess its because they are swamped/overworked/stressed. The doctors are of a high standard.

We switched to this practice after our GP closed his and have been very happy with all of the doctors we've seen there. The only downside is that they are very busy so it can be difficult getting appointments.

North Road surgery is an excellent practice. The surgery is extremely busy because they had to take on many extra patients when a local practice closed down, even though in theory North Road was full. With all the extra patients the Doctors and Nurses maintain their caring and supportive manner and are first class. The reception staff are also extremely good and helpful. Booking an appointment can be a bit hairy and you have to make the call in the early hours to get your chosen doctor. Once you get the appointment you are certainly looked after.

This is not a criticism, merely a mention that it is often difficult to get an appointment with a nurse for minor treatment, eg ear syringing. Also, I have tried to get same-day appointments via the automated system - often during the night - with Dr Strachan and have found this impossible on many occasions. However, she is always willing to contact a patient by telephone if necessary and suitable.

The clinical care is very good. I have a number of examples where a variety of the doctors in the practice have gone the extra mile to get to the bottom of particular issues. The booking system is a constant frustration, being told that the appointments are updated at 1am is not helpful, particularly if you are not nocturnal.

Good GPs but will benefit from a move to more spacious surroundings. The practice would benefit from another doctor or two as obtaining an appointment is not always easy. The practice is well run.

I've only needed to use the surgery twice since moving to the area last year. On both occasions, I found the reception staff and doctors to be very efficient, helpful and thorough. The only problem I can find is the automated appointment booking system. You have to call after 1am to stand any chance of seeing your preferred doctor within a reasonable waiting time.
