I was looked after through the whole experience.

There was nothing I thought could have been done better.

I'd spent a week being so poorly but trying to avoid the place, but the GP surgery insisted on calling an ambulance for me to get there and be treated like I'm making it all up for attention and medication. I'm honestly disgusted, appalled, mortified and do not feel I have the confidence to ever seek help again, especially as this is not the first, nor even the second or third time this has happened to me. This department really needs to work on its treatment of the chronically ill! I'd actually rather let myself drop down dead than attend that department again. Especially now since it means playing very dangerously with medication to try and treat what they wouldn't as a result of the ignorance displayed upon my visit by having double up on dosage to try and treat the pain.

Not jumping straight to the conclusion that a chronically ill person is drug seeking would be a good start. Going from "what's happened" to "well we can't give you morphine for 'x' reasons" implies very heavily that you're assuming that's all someone wants. There's a big difference between wanting a certain type of medication (especially when one already has said medication at home) and just wanting to find out what's causing the pain so we can make it stop once and for all. Apparently your drs are not aware of that difference. Given I've witnessed some appalling treatment of patients that were there from an overdose of recreational drugs, and even had buses tell me to go ahead and do it when I've explained I've been in so much pain that I've felt like throwing myself under a bus to stop it. The department needs a serious overhaul. And in another area it needs help with, mental health. I darent even admit to having mental health problems to them through fear of being threatened with being sectioned because my pain is affecting my mental health.

We were treated very well but the wait times were far too long. I got my 9 year old home at 3.30am. She was more tired than anything else at that point and ended up missing a day of school unnecessarily. We had been at the hospital for 6 hour and were told we had saved 2-3 hours because we were rushed straight through to to nurse when we arrived rather than waiting. I have no complaints about the staff or the treatment but the waiting time was terrible.

Improve the system or the staff levels to avoid such long waiting times. Also acknowledged that parents need to accompany children to A&E by putting 2 chairs in some of the waiting sections. That was a long time to have a tired 9 year old trying to get comfortable on my knee due to having only one chair between us (until a kind nurse found us an empty room so my daughter could sleep for the last half an hour of our wait).

It's a mixed bag of great and awful staff. On one hand was treat very well. But on the other hand appallingly and reduced to tears. Spoken to with uncalled for comments and gestures. Always feel scared to visit.

I attended a@e with a broken foot ! When on arrival I had to stand for an hour on said broken foot in a waiting line at front door. No chair available once checked in to reception was told to walk all way to fracture clinic at far side of hospital which was agony then asked to walked from fracture clinic to X-ray was only due to a passing nurse who noticed how much pain and struggling I was in that I ended up in a chair with some assistance but to be honest too little too late

Better communication from staff ! Staff actually asking if any help needed even after explaining the accident I had they never offered a chair to help get there

Triage seemed hit and miss long queues outside the building

From the moment I was wheeled into A&E the doctors and nurses were very professional and caring they couldn't do enough for me everyone went over and above with my care. Even the paramedics when they finally arrived were caring and professional and couldn't apologise enough for having to wait 6hours for an ambulance

There is nothing that could have been done any better.
