I had a very successful microdiscectomy at The Circle and the level of treatment was excellent. The nursing staff were kind and hard working. The food was delicious.
Some of the paperwork I brought home did not have boxes ticked for when I could shower/remove dressing etc, but I remembered what I was told
my first ever operation so not knowing what to expect ,looked after all the way with clear explanation at each stage of my umbilical hernia op.
this experience was better than expected.
Great facilities and professional !
Great hospital. Staff friendly with enough time to care for you. Would reccommend to friends and family.
An excellent hospital that my partner have visited several times.
This place treats NHS patients like cattle, I was given treatment I did not consent to during the appointment meant to discuss treatment options, which didn't happen, it was decided t what I would be getting without my involvement and I was out the door in 10 min shell-shocked, with no aftercare information, I spent days in agony, my partner was sent out of the room for "privacy", it wasn't even discussed if I would be happy for them to stay or not. they do not listen to patient's needs, they fail to give aftercare, they fail to get proper consent and they discard any complaint, if they even reply at all, there is no learning from this hospital and they roam freely of national guidance on safe clinical practices as they are private, the medical staff are not current with their medical education on conditions that impact a patients ability to understand a rushed process and quote policies at you to withhold treatment that would require you to have treatment that takes longer than 10 min even when the policy states the treatment should have been administered and remove your only witness from a room, isolating you.
It's a great hospital & the staff are very obliging, helpful and caring. Thanks
First class care and service thank you again
I went in for a day case procedure. Scheduling seemed random and unplanned. Despite being asked to arrive at 7:30am, I had to wait a few hours for my procedure because they decided to start with other cases first.
After care was a let down. I was discharged without medication and told to take whatever paracetamol or ibuprofen I had at home! No mention of how much or how often. I should have been told before the day of surgery to make sure I have pain medication at home if the hospital can't be bothered to provide it.
A few days after surgery, I phoned in tears to let the nurse and Dr know that I was in excruciating pain despite taking paracetamol and ibuprofen, and was dismissed and told to keep taking paracetamol and that a lot of pain is normal! I couldn't even drink water because of the pain.
I ended up going to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where I was given stronger pain medication and could finally bear to drink and take in soft foods. I will avoid Curcle Hospital in future.
