I could not have asked for better care from nicer staff. The speed of the service has been much faster than I expected, after delays caused by Covid.
Many thanks for your help
Experience with PUK was really good. They kept me informed, and having a central portal made communication much easier. All the PUK staff I interacted with have been friendly and helpful. The only hiccup was that I missed a few calls as there was no caller ID (and I only ever get spam calls!). However this was quickly resolved, as they communicated with me through the online portal.
I have just had my first ever assessment and Dr Sabarigirivasan who was very kind, caring and professional. I felt understood and I feel like my care is in good hands and will be followed up appropriately and I’m a caring way.
I cannot recommend Psychiatry-UK highly enough. They helped me achieve a diagnosis of ADHD at 40 in a dignified, caring, and thorough manner.
The online portal system was excellent, as was my Titration nurse Katherine Armstrong, my Doctor Suchitra Sabarigirivasan, and all of the other staff members I dealt with.
I will be forever in your debt and sincerely thank you all for helping me understand myself and learn how to best manage my condition.
I found that the online portal was a bit annoying to use at times due to the login not always working on mobile and some slight issues with updates, however it also felt secure which was comforting.
The staff themselves were always nice and often responded quickly, apart from a period where I had issues with my notes not sending correctly. They even kept me up to date on when they were working so I could ensure I got my prescription before their holidays if need be.
It has great staff and they always help you in a brilliant ways
Although the wait was long (not as long as the average referral mind you), it was well worth the wait. They organised earlier appointments where they could and the titration team was excellant in answering my questions, sometimes replying to me at 10pm in the evening. I rarely had to wait longer than 12 hours to get a response, which is incredible. Keep up to good work, can't recommend you enough.
Stumbling across Psychiatry UK has changed my life forever, My application was dealt with in a timely manner even though the service was absolutely inundated with applications (thanks a lot TikTok), and everything is free of charge. Thanks to this service, I now know what has been holding me back my whole life and am in a position where I am aware of what is different about me and what I can do to improve/live with ADHD. Nothing but positive words and praise for this service and the staff that work there, you are doing God's work and are truly changing lives. Thank you to everyone involved! x
I received help and assistance throughout the process. Questions and queries were always answered quickly. Was able to do remotely which was useful as I’m disabled so less hassle for me. The assessment was explained well and I feel comfortable during it. Staff were friendly and approachable.
Although the wait time was quite long for the initial assessment, I think it is much longer currently to go through the usual NHS channels (from hearing friend's stories) and the process of using PsychUK was very easy. Their patient portal makes communication about appointments, prescriptions, and questions during the titration process very straight forward. I felt supported the whole way through my titration, and any questions or concerns I had were taken seriously and answered right away.
I would advise anyone looking at getting assessed for ADHD as an adult through the NHS to use the right-to-choose scheme to access PsychUK's services.
Psychiatry-UK was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
