Quite a nice experience, the hospital was well organised and clean, the personnel was competent and helpful, they did a thorough assessment of my condition beforehand, I got an appointment in a couple of weeks with Dr Shatkar. The operation (under general anaesthesia) was swift and without issues, I didn't even need to take any pain medication afterwards.

I had been suffering from persistent fistulas for over two years. I did some research and came across a specialised procedure called VAAFT and understood that only certain surgeons could carry out this surgery. I was referred to Dr Veeranna Shatkar at Queens Hospital who carried out this procedure in January 2022. As a Dr his bedside manner was wonderful. He was reassuring and finally gave me hope that the fistula will not return after the surgery (even though I am aware fistulas can come back). I was vey frustrated at this point. Just over one year later I write this review to express my gratitude to Dr Shatkar. The fistula has not returned and I have been moving forward with my life. Anyone who has this horrible disease please look up the VAAFT procedure.

Very pleased with the treatment I received from Mr Shatner and Nuffield Hospital in Brentwood. He explained everything carefully and I knew exactly what to expect.

hospital reference 00158677 On Monday 7th November I had an appointment with a Doctor in Dr. Shatkar's team. He was very thorough and made every attempt to organise my C T Scan which I have been waiting for since June.. Several telephone calls were unsuccessful. Upon his suggestion I went back to Outpatients Team 4 to explain the situation. They suggested requesting a priority report from him. I went back to see him and told him what they suggested. He obviously did as I have an appointment for my C T scan on Sunday 13th December. My most grateful thanks to this Doctor (sorry , did not get his name) I would be most obliged if you would pass on my most heartfelt thanks to him. I am sure you can find out who he is through yours records.

I completely recovered within two months from a long _Lay open Anal fistula done by MR Shatkar . I can not put into words the appreciation and gratefulness for his experience ,intuition and openness to deal with my health issue.. I just had to let go of my expectations in order to enjoy the whole process .

Dr Shatkar was amazing, kind and helpful. After our initial consultation and diagnosis of a sebaceous cyst within minutes, we had a date booked in for removal in just one hour. Throughout my minor operation, Dr Shatkar and his team kept me distracted and calm. A quick, attentive and enjoyable service.

I was in terrible pain from an in growing toenail, which kept getting infected. Mr Shatkar was so kind and helpful. I had minor day surgery the next week and the pain went immediately. I am so happy that it was dealt with so quickly and efficiently and I am pain free.

I had had a very long journey to finally find a consultant to resolve my problem. I would say well over 2 years and initially under another consultant who I had waited initially 8 months to see. After many test during Covid times I had find another consultant myself who was Mr Shatkar. I immediately felt confident under his care and finally had a successful operation at The New Treatment Centre in Goodmayes. I must say this hospital was extremely professional and as a day patient I was very well cared for indeed. I am now discharged and have relayed how well I now feel. We must never give up as the patient to find our solution. Sometimes that involves phoning around or going back to your GP to keep moving in the right direction which I had to do.
