Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital

Following laparoscopic day surgery, my daughters blood pressure dropped dramatically when she was back on the ward. She became very clammy and became very pale. The nurse played her flat and monitored her blood pressure which began to rise but was still on the low side. Her blood pressure remained stable for the next few hours. The nurse that had been caring for her said that they were handing over to the nurses on night shift and they would decide if she was well enough to be discharged . No sooner had they handed over, the sister marched in and said that my daughter could go home. We were really rushed to pack up and go. The following morning my daughter was in a lot of discomfort following a sleepless night. Despite taking pain killers she was eventually in a lot of pain and was unable to get out of the arm chair. I telephoned the ward for advice, there was no reply, just a recorded message saying there was no one available to answer the phone and to call back later. I called back after about 10 minutes and the same thing happened again. My daughter appeared to feel a little better for a while after this. During the afternoon her pain became worse again, eventually she was in severe pain. I rang the ward 3 times from 6pm until about 7.45 pm. Each time I was told a doctor would ring us. I expressed that it was urgent. By 8pm we still hadn't had a call back from a doctor. By that time we had no choice but to go to A&E at Southend Hospital. My daughter had blood tests and a CT scan. She had internal bleeding and was admitted for an urgent blood transfusion. I am outraged that my daughter had to suffer such sub standard treatment from The Nuffield Brentwood!

The Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital is a pleasant well-staffed small hospital. As a private patient I was able, via a link on their website, to get an interest free, two-year loan, to pay for my total knee replacement operation and physiotherapy services.

I was delighted with the care I received at Nuffield Brentwood. All of the staff were caring and supportive. There was a calm but efficient atmosphere, and cannot speak highly enough of ALL the staff.

My Mother was incredibly well looked after by all the staff. All her worries she had were dealt with by the nurses. Help was on hand to assist her as she is 87 severely sight impaired and heating impaired. The care she received was excellent.

All good no problems at all

The Hartswood was one of the four allocated selections under the NHS guidelines. It was the one allocated to me and I have to say that it could not have been a better choice. The staff, organisation and attention to detail are first class. The communication is brilliant. The room I had was stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The nurses and consultants were on had the minute I arrived and the care and attention received during my overnight stay was faultless.

I was immediately made welcome when attending appointments and day of surgery. The hospital was so professional and friendly. The staff are very attentive and made me feel at ease and relaxed especially on the day of surgery. I was so impressed and would have no problem recommending this hospital to others.

I had knee surgery at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital 13 months ago, and I am extremely happy with the care I received. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, supportive, and professional. The surgical team did an excellent job, and my recovery has been smooth and successful. Thanks to their outstanding care, I am now back to enjoying my normal activities without pain.
