I was referred to Thomas Satyadas from Bolton on the discovery of a tumor in my common bile duct . My initial fear and panic was allayed by Thomas after my first meeting with him , where he explained what was wrong , what we needed to do and how we would do it . Nothing was sugar coated but I was given and honest and human appraisal of what was wrong . from the very first time of seeing Thomas I had great confidence in him as a surgeon but even more so what an amazing caring person . He broke my treatment into bite sized tasks that needed to be completed , the first of which for me was getting liver drains fitted to allow my bile to drain and billirubin levels in my blood to drop , this became my focus thanks to Thomas's guidance . it is lot easier to deal with a few small problem than it is to deal with the massive task and this allowed me to cope , in addtion Thomas gave me his number to ensure i could contact him with any issues and this alone made a big difference , knowing that he was there . The surgery itself was 11 hours and a complete success and my recovery was quick thanks to the treatment i received. Straight after that mammoth surgery , Thomas came straight to my wife and parents to let them know how things went . Even once home Thomas continued to check u on me. if you have this man in your corner , then I believe you cant have anyone better I am alive today thanks to Thomas and his team , a team incidentally who think as much of him as I do . Nothing was ever sugar coated and all risks where made aware to me , yet I always felt confident in what was being done . Apart from being a highly respected surgeon he is also an incredible man , sorry if my review jumps about a bit it is difficult for me to speak about Thomas Satyadas without getting a little emotional . Brilliant surgeon and amazing human

Thomas is not only a great Surgeon , he is an amazing man . I was referred to Mr Satyadas from Bolton Hospital on the discovery of a tumor in my common bile duct . My initial thoughts and feeling of dread and my panic to get this thing cut out of me , where all stopped after talking for the first time with Thomas. He explained what was wrong and he outlined the way forward , but he focused my mind on completing 1 job at a time , the first thing was to get my bilirubin levels down , so drain where put in 2 points on my liver , Thomas made this my focus and this helped me deal with the massive problem in little bites . Thomas gave me his number and reassured me that if I I had any issues I could contact him . This alone made me feel i was being treated as a person . The surgery was a liver resection and while I was confident in Thomas , he never sugar coated the risks and different outcomes . after 11 hours of successful surgery , Thomas went to see my wife and my parents. Thomas came to see me every day in hospital even though it was the busy run up to christmas and he has family life of his own . Even once home after only 10 days , Thomas kept in touch to make sure my recovery was OK My review may seem a little disjointed , but it is difficult for me to talk or write about what Thomas Satydas did for me and my family without getting quite emotional . I am alive today thanks to Thomas and his team , a team by the way think as much of him as i do. This man cares and he knows his stuff - what more could you wabt from your surgeon

Mr Satyadas operated on me at the end of January 2015 to remove my gall-bladder by keyhole surgery. From the initial pre-operative consultation onwards my wife and I were very impressed by Mr Satyadas’s very caring attitude and his willingness to take time to listen to and answer all our questions. The operation went very well, and while I was still under anaesthetic, Mr Satyadas kept personally my wife and daughter informed of how it had gone. The following morning, before my discharge he paid me a further visit and I was able to tell him that I had not suffered any pain at all. After my discharge, Mr Satyadas contacted me at home on two occasions, and on follow-up visits to the hospital I again enjoyed excellent care and advice. My wife and I would very strongly recommend Mr Satyadas as a very professional and dedicated surgeon and doctor
