The Christie

I had an appointment for a check up. No examination. All blood tests results not through. Not asked about my health. Doctor told me I have a 30% chance of cancer coming back. She seemed to think it was appropriate to keep smiling. She then bullied me and humiliated me by repeatedly saying "you have shouted at my secretary" whilst still smiling. Completely untrue. I contacted Pals and these complaints not looked into. Further allegations made against me by people I have never met or spoken to and now told I cannot speak to anyone at The Christie's. I have lived here all my life and paid into the system . Being an older person this Doctor seems to enjoy the power bullying people gives her

Used to be good but now not interested in the job. Just the power

Don't want older patients. Made clear patient do not matter. Only doing job for money and power

I received treatment for lung cancer and between North Manchester General,Oldham Hospital,And the Christie, my treatment was excellent,

I was very happy with my care at the Christie, all staff were very helpful and my care following major surgery was pro-active. I was encouraged to mobilise with physio input. The food was better than in other hospitals I have stayed in. The ward was kept clean. Very minor improvements would be to increase the frequency of hot drinks being offered, and to improve staffing levels at night.

The staff at The Christie are kind, caring and very helpful. They take time to assist and are happy to answer your questions. There is understanding of how scary cancer is and staff are supportive and encouraging.

I can say that every member of staff at the Christie has treated me with respect and professionalism. The hospital is as welcoming as possible and the systems in place for checking etc seem to work well.

From my first arrival to begin chemotherapy last year I was provided with the highest quality care. The nurse who fist met my wife and I explained very clearly what was going to happen, and while I received my first dose of chemotherapy she went out of her way to find a cancer diary for me. I found this little book really helpful during my treatment. It enabled me to record what was happening to me and how I felt about it, along with charting my progress. After my first treatment I went to the Christie at Macclesfield. The staff at Macclesfield were all brilliant. By my second visit the receptionist knew my name and started to put me at ease. The phlebotomy team were so professional and friendly. In the treatment area I was put at ease and given the treatment by staff who can perform professionally while being friendly and obviously caring about patient care. To do this day in and out when patients are often suffering and anxious, they are very special people. Sadly the chemotherapy has not worked as well as hoped, and I am back at the Christie in Manchester. At a worrying stage in my treatment, Dr Croxford and his team are allaying my concerns and working to deliver the next stage of treatment.

My experience regarding my stay at the Christie was excellent. I cannot fault the care and treatment I received whilst in the care of the surgical team and nurses. I would also like to mention the porters and cleaning staff who also do an ecellent job at the Christie.

I was treated as an nhs patient but I have been private as well , no difference whatsoever, absolutely fantastic service and care
