Having surgery for most is probably a daunting and worry time. Mr Ellis was extremely professional and informative from initial consultation right through to procedure day making it very easy to feel relaxed and unconcerned about my care and well-being. I was told in appointments exactly what to expect what my options were. I was left in no doubt what these options were several days later when a letter was posted on the Web portal to me repeating those same options in exact detail. The surgery was no different advised at every stage what to expect and how recovery would probably go, along with some specific timescales. I am 10 weeks post surgery and all is well. I would recommend Mr Ellis very highly. I must not forget this was 1 week before the Covid 19 lock down and to this end acknowledge that I was not only lucky to have the operation but was cared for as if nothing was unusual in our world.

I could not have asked for better care - especially under Covid restrictions. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

01.06.20 Thank you so much for your recent consultation, which was so clear and helpful. You spent time explaining everything; it felt you were treating the whole person, not focusing simply on the medical condition you were discussing. The consultation never felt rushed and you explained everything in terms and language I understood, which was so helpful; the result was that I felt completely reassured and one hundred per cent confident that what we had discussed was the best and right way forward. Again, thank you so much. Kind regards, Peter Machen

This was to be my first invasive surgery, but from the first appointment with Mr Ellis,I felt at ease and confident that all would be well, and this was reinforced on further appointments, his explanations of his findings and his methods of treatment were easy for a layman to understand, and being 82, this was very important for me. The operation went as Mr Ellis described, and the after care was extremely good, with both Mr Ellis and the anaesthetist coming in to check that all was well . On discharge, after one face to face meeting with Mr Ellis, covid 19 restrictions came into force and-further appointments were by phone, date and times given by a member of his team were kept to on time by Mr Ellis, so no hanging about waiting for a phone call. Mr Ellis has a very good team around him and I do not think that it needs any fine tuning
