Mr James A S Young

Mr Young went out of his way to arrange my second knee replacement giving me ample time to recover in order to make a visit to Canada to see my son and his family. He was also very assuring when I fell down the stairs only 18 days after the replacement!

May I take this opportunity to thank Mr. James Young for all the professional care you have shown to me both before and after having a total knee replacement in April. Mr. Young and all of his team have been caring, professional and kind at all times which is much appreciated. In the future if I need the other knee replaced I would have no hesitation in requesting Mr. James Young to be my surgeon. Thank you for putting me back together again. The painful knee has been removed, I can now enjoy a bright future with my family and friends also fun in life again pain free. Thank you.

I had a successful partial knee replacement. A complication arose through no fault of the surgeon, but thankfully the same surgeon discovered the problem and put it right. James is kind, helpful, listens to all your concerns. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. In fact I am contemplating getting a partial knee replacement on my other knee sometime in the near future.

I felt totally confident that I had selected the right person at our first consultation. My procedure on March 16th. ( total left knee replacement) went very smoothly and I am delighted with my progress since ( as, I know, are Mr. Young and my physiotherapist). I have needed very little analgesia in the two months since and the knee, while still tight and stiff, is pain-free for the first time in over three years. All in all, very happy. James was easy to follow and had a very straightforward approach, which worked well for me because he instilled confidence, so I knew what I was letting myself in for. I'd have liked a tad more clarity on what to expect during the rehab period (it is tough), but regardless, I have no hesitation in recommending James as an excellent surgeon. I have a very neat scar, too.

Having suffered an injury to my knee at a young age and since having had two operations to correct the injury and later correct the general ware & tear I thought, nothing more could be done to relieve the ache and pains as I got older. I was pleasantly surprised following my visit to James what options were available, which he explained in great detail and advised what would be best for me. The operation was carried out successfully and I am now making a good recovery. For me the import factors were the quality of the advice received, the reassurance of what was achievable and the plan of action to get there. This plan was carried out with care and skill provided by James and his support team. The support post operation has also been of a high quality.

I cannot thank James enough for the care and support he gave me. A very unexpected sports injury left me totally unprepared and quite frankly terrified for surgery but James explained the process clearly and made me feel very comfortable around what was going to happen. 7 weeks post surgery and I have been driving, walking including up and down stairs and apart from the obvious of returning to sports (yet!) life is pretty much back to normal already! James is incredible at what he does and he makes his patients feel safe, comfortable, supported and confident every step of the way. I would strongly recommend James and his team to anyone in need!
