Mr Ellis is a very caring, considerate and compassionate doctor. I recently had a total knee replacement at Kims and he made the whole process, from the first consultation, the operation, and right through to my final follow up seem like a breeze. I was seen on time for every appointment, given a date for my operation on my first consultation which was a wonderful , as l could then plan everything around that date knowing it would go ahead and not worry about a bed being available on the day. He very kindly phoned my husband after the operation to let him know all was well, very much appreciated. Kims is a fantastic hospital, and although l had to travel a little further for the opportunity, l would not hesitate to recommend Mr Ellis and his wonderful team. A very big thank you to you all.

Mr Ellis was knowledgeable and personable the whole way through! He made me very relaxed and confident that I was in the right care, even down to the personal call he made to my wife to let her know that the surgery was a success. An all round genuinely caring and thoughtful surgeon who I would highly recommend.

When I first met this gentleman I was apprehensive as I had been referred for a knee problem which was getting worse. I found Simon Ellis to be very pleasant and friendly and he immediately put me at my ease. He was very knowledgeable while explaining what types of treatment were available to me giving the pros and cons for each one. We then decided on which one would give me a best quality of life afterwards. He was very compassionate when I told him I was not expecting the option finally agreed upon. He explained the surgery and what would happen afterwards. We agreed on a date for surgery before I left. I was told I could speak to his practice manager if I had any questions in the meantime. The staff at reception were very pleasant when I arrived at the hospital and booked in. I also did not have long to wait for my appointment even though I arrived early.

Having ruptured my ACL, whilst playing the sport I loved, I was devastated, but after my initial consultation with Mr. Ellis I was immediately put at ease and reassured that it would not be the end of my hockey playing life! He is a most compassionate and caring doctor with a very professional and understanding manner, dare I say fatherly, which totally made me feel cared for and looked after. My initial procedure had to be cancelled due to risk of infection and Mr. Ellis was so efficient and reassuring that another date would be found as soon as possible that again, that 'end of the world feeling' was averted! Finally my operation took place and the care and attention given was second to none. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Ellis as the confidence and positivity he exudes really does make you feel you are in very safe hands. On another note, my poor suffering mother wanted to also add that his care and explanation towards relatives (suffering alongside the patients!) are also made to feel at ease by Mr. Ellis by his incredibly kindly manner.
