I found my consultation with Mr Ellis very informative & professional. Mr Ellis took great interest in my previous history concerning my knee problems. He studied my MIR scan & gave me three alternative suggestions for treatment. We agreed on the final option of surgery. From only one consultation with Mr Ellis, I feel confident with the prospect of my future care concerning issues with my knees.

My husband saw Mr Ellis in clinic on Thursday afternoon and he explained everything in detail to us. We both felt reassured by him. Great communicator. Felt we could ask anything. Didn’t feel rushed. We were given a date for the operation which is a huge help as I have to get cover at work. A most refreshing way of dealing with people. Thank you.

I went to Mr Ellis to get a second opinion on a knee replacement which, after a year, was still causing me pain. I am unable to walk very far or to flex the knee without pain after 90 degrees. Mr Ellis listened carefully to my account of my difficulties and addressed each of my concerns. I found this extremely reassuring as it has not been my experience that doctors listen to what the patient has to say about their own condition. The explanation of what he thought was causing the problems was detailed and Mr Ellis answered my questions and clarified when I didn't understand the finer points of the working of a replaced knee! Mr Ellis has recommended treatment to improve the flexion and strength of the knee and, because his investigation was thorough and his explanation of the problem convincing, I am very hopeful that this will help my knee. I came away comforted that my knee could be improved and I would recommend Mr Ellis wholeheartedly.

Thank you so much for this review. All too often in life people feel they are not listened to. In medicine listening is essential as it identifies the problem and allows us as doctors to concentrate on finding both an explanation and a solution. With kind regards Simon Ellis
