In early August 2018 I extensively damaged my knee in a skateboarding accident. damaging and/or detaching my ACL, PCL and LCL ligaments, as well as a Hamstring (PLC) injury and a Tibial Plateau fracture. Mr Akrawi was very open and honest with me from the word go about how extensive and serious my injury was and how long the likely recovery would be. He kept me informed throughout the process about what his recommendations were, and what he was planning to do to achieve the best outcome for me. He spent 11 hours operating on me repairing all of my various injuries in one go working late in to the evening / early hours of the morning. The aftercare I have received has been similarly brilliant with regular appointments and referrals to specialists outside of his area of expertise where necessary. I feel incredibly lucky to have had Mr Akrawi as my surgeon, I now have a very strong and stable knee and 6 months after injuring myself I am able to walk, run, jump and hop with confidence. On top of all of this, Mr A. has always been very friendly, warm and kind, which can be very comforting when facing such extensive surgery and recovery. To any prospective patients reading this my one piece of advice would be - Do Your Rehab! You're in safe hands with Mr. A, but you have to do your bit too! Simon.

Mr Akrawi provided exceptionally good care for my daughter during her knee operation. He look great care in explaining the procedure and expected outcomes before the operation and his after care was equally clear and professional. I would recommend him 100%!

I saw Mr Akrawi for my Acl operation. He talked me through the operation and made me feel at ease. All went well and after surgery he went through what he’d done and went through what to do at home for early stage rehab before my Physio appointment. He’s very easy to talk to and listens to you when you have a concern. My Knee feels strong and I’ve now started running and playing golf again after 3 months.

If feel extremely lucky that I was able to have Mr Akrawi as my surgeon, his knowledge and understanding was superb, and his way of explaining things made it so much easier to understand, as with so may other doctors the words and meanings that they use us patients don’t understand, The after care I have received has been brilliant from Hawar and the NHS I can’t knock and any problems or concerns I have had have been answered, the care and treatment I have received felt as if I had gone private !!! If I was to try and give any suggestions to improve the service would be to have more surgeons like Mr Akwari he has been brilliant and like I said feel very lucky to of had him so thankyou

Hi its me Lucy O'Halloran. I would like to say a few words about my surgeon Mr hawar akrawi. At the end of May last year I did a lot of damage to my knee / leg. I thought I was going to lose it. My surgeon the best I've met in my life so far and I've seen a lot of surgeons. His repaired my knee and is very strong. His work is very neat too. He looks so committed to what he does and he makes me as a patient feel very comfortable and I think that's a good thing to also have, aswell as being good in operating and fixing people. I am lost with words what to say about my surgeon right now, but I would recommend him to any and everyone. Best surgeon ever.
