I have had two operations performed by Mr Akrawi on my left knee in 2019. The first was an arthroscopy and the second a patella stabilisation procedure. I cannot recommend Mr Akrawi enough. Every time I have seen him he has gone above and beyond to explain everything to me and also taken the time to go through every single x-ray and MRI scan to ensure I fully understand what is happening in my knee. He completely put me at ease before each surgery with a charming bedside manner and makes you feel as though you are his only patient that day. His skills, knowledge and experience will be obvious to any patient and are hugely beneficial to RCHT.

Mr Akrawi explained what operation he had performed on my wife. On the Sunday after the operation he visited my wife in the Trauma unit to see how she was and showed us the X-Rays of her hips before and after the operation. He was very courteous and friendly. He was pleased with my wife’s operation and her condition.

MR Hawar Akrawi had a very pleasant manner about him, friendly, obviously knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. when manipulating my knee, he wasn't forceful, like another consultant I have seen recently. when asking questions he listened and didn't say anything until I had finished speaking. overall I couldn't of been treated any better. An excellent professional, and would be more than happy to see him again.

On first meeting the Doctor he put me at ease, he started by explaining all stages of the operation & asking me if I fully understood what he would be doing during the operation, he answered all my questions & proceeded to show me the X-ray photos to explain which parts would be removed & how he would extract the pieces. On completion of the operations that he conducted during the day he then came back to explain what had happened during the operation & showed the two pieces that had been removed, I again saw the photos of the inside of the knee, I was also instructed on the recovery process that I should expect to see in the future. Overall the operation went successfully & I thank the Doctor & all the staff for there support during the operation.

I felt that Mr Akwari was extremely personable and was very thorough with his initial examination. He put me at ease and explained what he was looking for at every stage. He listened to my concerns regarding my injury and took appropriate steps for further investigation based on my feedback. During my follow up appointment he took the time to show me every scan/X-ray that had been done and explained the next steps based on the information at hand. He ensured that I was happy with everything and answered lots of questions.
