Had a complete knee replacement at Maidstone Hospital.
Could not have had a better result. I have complete confidence in Mr Akrawi and his team.
As well as performing a fantastic job I found him easy to talk with and appreciated his personal involvement with the follow up care.

Mr Akrawi was the most amazing consultant, he is calm, listens, explains everything really clearly, is extremely compassionate. The knee operation he performed was fantastic, the wound is tiny with almost no scarring, I was able to weight bear straight away and my knee healed extremely quickly. He as also very thorough in the follow up appointment and made sure I was happy and that everything was okay. I could not recommend him more highly.

I was very happy with my consultation, my procedure was explained clearly and all my questions were answered. From the information i was given i felt very confident and at ease before my knee operation. Mr Hawar Akrawi also visited me each day after the operation to check on my progress and again answer any questions or concerns that i had. I am now recovered enough to go ahead with my other knee operation, and am confident that i am in good hands.

On 8th November 2019 I had a total knee replacement undertaken by Mr Akrawi at Tunbridge Wells Hospital which has proved a great success and improved my mobility enormously. To speed matters up my initial consultation with Mr Akrawi was by telephone when he fully explained the procedure, answered all my questions and put my mind at ease.
I first met Mr Akrawi on the day of the operation, prior to going into theatre, when he briefed me on what was going to happen. I was the pleasantly surprised to be visited by Mr Akrawi in the late evening when he reassured me that the operation had gone well. A follow up consultation with him confirmed this and he was very pleased with my progress.
Mr Hawar Akrawi is a kind and understanding surgeon and I can't thank him enough for improving my quality of life.

I recently had knee surgery at Tunbridge Wells hospital and this was performed by Mr Akwari and his team.I was very impressed with the treatment I received and the care whilst I was in hospital.Mr Akwari explained exactly what was going to be done in my operation to construct a new knee and what would happen during the recovery process.I also agreed to take part in an evaluation programme to access the components of the new knee.
Overall I was very satisfied with my experience at the hospital.

I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty interest in Knee Reconstruction, Joint Preservation and knee Arthroplasty Surgery. I am British trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine, Diseases of the knee and Joint Arthroplasty at the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre. During this year, I spent time gaining advanced training in performing a variety of reconstructive knee procedures under the tutelage of A/Prof Leo Pinczewski in one of the major orthopaedic and sports medicine practices in Australia.
My special expertise is in adult and paediatric ACL reconstruction, Patella instability, realignment (osteotomy) procedures around the knee, Cartilage Regeneration and sports knee injuries and robotic assisted replacement in young and active patients.
I am also passionate about trauma surgery, I have completed masters degree in trauma sciences and spent 6 years training in major trauma centres managing complex knee injuries.
