I write on behalf of my husband and myself. (Ian Funnell and Valerie Park-Funnell). My husband had an appointment with Dr Ram on Thursday last and once again it was like meeting an old friend. The consultant was as usual his kind and attentive self . He has been looking after Ian's ailments for over eight years with his excellent, never changing 100% care and consideration. In this much changing world of medications and medical staff, Dr Ram has been a solid rock in his own way, and a steadying factor that has always left us leaving the appointment feeling much better. Thank you seems so little to say,but we both feel he is a credit to the medical profession and a great asset to Warrington Hospital. Five star in every field.

Dr Ramakrishnan is a kind, thoughtful, highly skilled and knowledgable doctor. He immediately put me at ease. He clearly and patiently explained all procedures and results. He undertook procedures with kindness which is so important in what can feel an embarrassing situation. He answered all my questions patiently and with an empathetic manner. I have suffered with ongoing symptoms of IBS from 2005. My General Practitioner could not offer a remedy for my ever increasing pain and discomfort. I recently suffered from a severe bout of IBS symptoms and felt that I now needed further investigation to rule out any other possible cause for my symptoms. I looked on the internet for a gastroenterologist in my local area. I had previously used the Spire Hospital for an orthopaedic issue and felt that they had provided an excellent service, so I contacted Dr Ramakrishnan. I noted the outstanding reviews from his patients and that he was offering capsule endoscopy, which is a way of recording images of the small intestine. A capsule is swallowed, which is the size and shape of a pill and contains a tiny camera. This camera takes pictures which are then viewed by the gastroenterologist. I have recently undergone this procedure. It is totally painless, there is no discomfort whatsoever. It is just like swallowing a normal tablet. There is no sedation, you simply swallow the capsule and wear a belt for the day. The capsule left my body naturally when I went to the toilet. I opted for this procedure following an MRI, colonoscopy and gastroscopy by Dr Ramakrishnan which did not highlight anything. I am delighted that I chose Dr Ramakrishnan “Dr Ram”. He always makes me feel as though I am his only patient. He is very thorough, explaining everything you need to know in a kind, caring and professional manner. He never ever rushes your consultation but will take as long as you need. I cannot praise him enough. I have already recommended him to a friend.

Doctor Ram offers the level of care that one could only hope for from a modern physician. His competency, communication skills, dedication and pride in the service he delivers cushioned the trauma of the overall experience. An exemplar of his profession, I am entirely content with the care he delivered.
