Dr S Kandikattu is truly exceptional! He is great with his patients and spends as much time as needed with you to get all questions answered and also just to get to know you. Your not just a number to him! He truly cares about his patient. I would recommend him to anyone! He is caring, compassionate , I felt cared for, and completely at ease. The first time I met Dr Subhash Kandikattu he was very friendly and was the first person to actually explain in a way that I could understand why I was experiencing chronic pain. He used diagrams and clear terminology instead off all the fancy words that people do not always understand. I left having a very clear understanding of what was happening and about my procedure.
From the minute I arrived at the hospital I was made to feel welcomed by everyone but most importantly reassured and safe especially due to Covid 19

Dr Kandikattu is one of the few pain medicine consultants in East Anglia to have gained certification in the Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). He uses the biopsychosocial model of pain to offer modern assessment and management of his patients’ pain at the Peterborough City & Stamford Hospital, Fitzwilliam and Boston West and Clementine Churchill Hospitals.
“Whilst doing my pain training at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, I was inspired by the pioneers in pain management there and I became keen to learn new techniques.”

Dr Kandikattu offers comprehensive pain management to people suffering from chronic pain from their head to their toes including: cancer, musculoskeletal and spinal (neck, chest, lower back, sciatica), neuropathic, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and persistent post-surgical pain.
He performs a full range of pain interventions including epidurals, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency denervations, most of which are image-guided using x-ray or ultrasound guidance. He is also an expert in treating acute pain and inpatient pain management.
He offers outpatient appointments and inpatient care for pain management intervention at the Fitzwilliam and Boston West Hospitals. Patients struggling with chronic post-operative pain may need further pain management to relieve their discomfort and Dr Kandikattu can offer a back-up service for them too.
