Dr Kandikattu and his team provided excellent treatment. I felt safe and reassured pre surgery, during my procedure and post surgery. I was very emotional the next day as it was the 1st time in over a year that I could properly stand upright without chronic pain. Without hesitation I can recommend Dr Kandikattu, my whole experience was superb.

Only met Dr Kandikattu the once for first assessment, however I found him to be knowledgable, caring and best of all, he has a sense of humour. Considering the subject matter it was very reassuring. I’m hoping the treatment to come is successful.

Dr Kandikattu is a real gentleman, always polite and courteous. He always listens and offers advice without being condescending. When doing spinal injections he is always very keen that he is not causing too much pain and that you are alright. Dr Kandikattu gives you detailed, informed choice prior to treatment and is very willing to answer any questions you may have and will take into consideration any ideas you have about your treatment. I have had spinal problems for 20+years and he is one of the best pain specialists I have met and recieved treatment from. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

At this time I do not think there is anything that needs improving, excellent care from Dr Subhash Kandikattu and his team. Nothing was too much trouble, I was always made to feel as comfortable as possible and the procedure was explained step by step by Dr Kandikattu. Procedure carried out at Stamford hospital, service and experience 100%

I suffer badly with back pain, seen no end of different GP's and doctors. All given me the feeling that its all in my head. I then got referred to Dr Kandikattu, he listened and confirmed that the pain i was having was not in my head. He is the most kind, compassionate caring Dr i have ever come across. The procedure he did was fabulous after approx 3 days i managed to do jobs and move which i wasn't able to do for 5 month previous. Hence the fact that when my back started going again 2 years later i went back to him. I can only highly recommend Dr Kandikattu and his team for giving me a better quality of life and giving me the ability to carry on my job

Profile

Dr Kandikattu is one of the few pain medicine consultants in East Anglia to have gained certification in the Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). He uses the biopsychosocial model of pain to offer modern assessment and management of his patients’ pain at the Peterborough City & Stamford Hospital, Fitzwilliam and Boston West and Clementine Churchill Hospitals.

“Whilst doing my pain training at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, I was inspired by the pioneers in pain management there and I became keen to learn new techniques.”

“I am pleased to now be able to tutor students studying for their MSc in Regional Anaesthetics at the University of East Anglia and I hope that I can instil some of desire to embrace new and modern pain management techniques in these trainees.”

Dr Kandikattu offers comprehensive pain management to people suffering from chronic pain from their head to their toes including: cancer, musculoskeletal and spinal (neck, chest, lower back, sciatica), neuropathic, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and persistent post-surgical pain.

He performs a full range of pain interventions including epidurals, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency denervations, most of which are image-guided using x-ray or ultrasound guidance. He is also an expert in treating acute pain and inpatient pain management.

He offers outpatient appointments and inpatient care for pain management intervention at the Fitzwilliam and Boston West Hospitals. Patients struggling with chronic post-operative pain may need further pain management to relieve their discomfort and Dr Kandikattu can offer a back-up service for them too.

“I use this holistic model of approach for all my patients, taking all the biological, psychological and, social factors into account as each can impact on a patient’s pain. It’s important to treat patients as a whole.” said Dr Kandikattu.
