Boots Opticians Worksop - Bridge Street

Female optician did my eye test and changed my varifocal prescription. New glasses arrived in 2 weeks, but they blurred my vision. Staff sent them back to be remade using a different measurement for the lenses. The second attempt also blurred my vision and I had a further eye test with a different (male) optician. He changed the prescription again, and a third pair of lenses was ordered for the frame. This was an improvement on the previous lenses, but not good. The third assistant just shrugged and I was told to try them for a while and if they were not right, I would have to consider what options I could take. In other words, Boots were not going to provide glasses to suit my visual needs. The varifocals are fine to use in and around the house, but cannot be used for driving, as they blur my vision. Driving was actually the reason for having the glasses in the first place, so that’s money wasted and the assistant was clearly not bothered because I had paid six weeks earlier. But let’s blame the attitude on Covid shall we?

I feel that Boots (the company) needs to investigate and invest in different and more up to date technology in regards to contact lenses.....it also seems that a much needed industry standard is lacking in the manufacture of lenses.......but overall apart from the egotistic (already discussed) first optician I saw......Worksop is a satisfactory department.........

Information explained regarding whether variifocals would be of use to myself and how they worked. The explanation was very easy to understand.
