The man who took me through the first part of the appointment, peripheral vision, etc was a bit curt. He didn't introduce himself, or say, come with me I'm going to run through some tests with you in a friendly manner. For every test (3) he checked his form and seemed to have to repeat my date of birth which is never welcome! At the end of the tests I had to sign a form 'for data protection' which he didn't give me time to read or consider that I might need my glasses to read the tiny print. As a consequence I'm probably signed up to receive unwanted emails, texts and calls. The optometrist was friendly enough but walked past me waiting in the corridor many times without acknowledging me, but perfectly friendly if a bit officious in the appointment. She didn't have the information that I had been tested there before but when I told her she did go to find my previous prescription to help inform if I need a new pair of glasses. The woman who helped me look at glasses was very helpful and guided me towards glasses that were the right price, and had the right features e.g. not too grannyish, big enough to see when looking down to read, not too big so the eyebrows were hidden. Overall I felt like I was in a eye test factory but the woman at the end made me feel I would be happy to buy glasses there, if not have the test.
