They didn't have the records to hand that I had an eye test last year, the assistant told the optician I last visited in 2015 in front of me. I had to correct him and say I visited last year, he quickly dashed off and returned 15 minutes later with paperwork I assume was from my 2016 appointment. This is my second appointment where they forgot to do the 'puff of air' test (unsure of technical name). This is purely because I always come in my contact lenses, I then get told they'll do it after my eye test/contact lens check up with the optician and then afterwards they then are in such a rush to try and sell me new glasses they never do the test! I hope I don't have some underlying condition that is being missed for the second year running. You can check my records which I'm sure will show this test wasn't done in 2016 and now in 2017. My optician Ian however was fantastic, incredibly friendly and chatty. He is probably the reason why I was distracted and didn't say 'wait I haven't done the puff of air test again' on my way out. I want to make you aware of the lack of thoroughness which is happening now for the second year in a row. Fortunately because I was told my eyes are in great shape I am in no rush to go back purely for the puff of air test. However if I'm missing that test I'm sure plenty of your other customers are too and health issues could be being missed.
