Excellent service from Gwen, Rachel and Richard. The whole process was very efficient even though the staff had to put up with our indecision regarding what frames to pick! Great experience, very professional.

An excellent and professional service from end to end. We could not have been happier with the service from Boots. All the staff from eye health check to optometrist and glass measuring were professional, patient and helpful. Tim Fok was excellent as always and very thorough in the examination. Arranged for follow up appointment with eye drops so he can check results from cataract operation more closely. The initial health check was completed very well by experienced and well trained member Katie. Then finally the glass selection was also performed very well by staff member (who's name I can't right now recall). Patient and took her time in explaining everything and answering all the questions. Even asked her colleague to double check calculations. This gave us great confidence that Boots really care and does what is right first time. I have already advised family members and friends to switch to Boots at next opportunity. (As their current opticians are pushy in their sales techniques which I have been very disappointed with.).

I went to Boots Portsmouth for my eye test and got new prescription glasses at the end of January 2017. I wasn't fully satisfied with the check to be honest as I was checked by two opticians in the same room and I thought that one of them didn't seem to have much expertise and was guided by the other colleague. By mid February I started having issues with my new glasses and went to my local Specsavers opticians as I don't live in Portsmouth. They found that the prescription was wrong. Boots asked me to go back for another test before changing my glasses so I did. The new optician found very close results to Specsavers and ordered new glasses. Since the 18 March I was told my new glasses would be ready in a few days. As today, 28 March as nothing had been received yet or nobody called me to let me know if my glasses are ready I rang back Boots and I finally found someone who has been able to confirm that my glasses have reached this morning (10 days later) the store I chose for delivery This will be the last time I go to Boots opticians in Portsmouth

Despite arriving in good time for my appointment, I had to wait around 15-20 minutes to be seen at which point they only did the initial eye test machines. I then had to wait around a further 15-20 minutes after comleteing these test before seeing the optician. So the whole process was a lot longer than I had anticipated. It would be useful to be given a rough outline of the duration of the appointment in future. However, all staff were friendly and helpful and clearly explained all aspects of my visit (i.e. The machine tests, the other tests and my options regarding glasses).
