Despite my appointment accidentally being booked in London (booked in the Nottingham store), I was handled by the assistant manager and was fitted in on the day and received excellent service from Jennie who did my pre-screen (she made the pressure test more comfortable and was very attentive regarding my Epilepsy during the test for the picture of the eye, checking with other colleagues that I would be safe and the flash wouldn't trigger a seizure) Martin the Optometrist was excellent and explained what he was doing throughout the test and put me at ease, he didn't rush (I seem to be rushed at all the other optometrists I have visited) and he was just very kind and chatty, I would like to have him as my optom forever more! Dan my dispenser was fabulous, very enthusiastic, usually at this point I expect a hard sell for all the fancy extras but Dan was friendly, laid back and informative, checking my budget first (I hate it when you have to say "no sorry I'm too poor for that") again I didn't feel rushed and we had a good chat regarding my frames and cost for sunglasses. Despite the fact that I am almost completely deaf and lip read (I have to take my husband to appointments for help because it is usually a nightmare) I never once had to tell the staff as they all spoke clearly and made eye contact. Despite the original mistake during booking this turned out to be an excellent experience thanks to the staff that day. I used to go to whichever Optician's had the frames I liked but I'm most certainly now sold on staying at Boots. Thanks Dan, Martin and Jennie!
