Friendly staff. Appreciated the optometrist agreeing I didn't need new glasses this time, as gives me confidence in their advice when they do tell me I need new ones! Offered an 'MOT' on my existing glasses free of charge. Great to feel like I'm receiving healthcare rather than just entering a sales environment.

Excellent service, friendly staff! Particularly enjoyed my experience with the consultant, Kim, who was absolutely fantastic in helping me to select a pair of glasses. I would recommend this branch of Boots Opticians over anywhere else. A major improvement over Specsavers.

The overall experience was tiresome and unsatisfactory (1 hour 45 mins). I had booked the appointment as a University of Nottingham employee, Boots are the preferred opticians under the EyeCarePlan. On arrival at 10.15 (appointment was 10.35) I was informed I had to enter my vehicle reg into a system otherwise I would be ticketed. Another optical consultant proceeded to take personal details on to a system in the middle of a busy store, asking my leisure pursuits and how long I spent outdoors, she took the preliminary tests including a glaucoma test. After then being transferred to the optician for further tests, I was asked on more than one occasion why I had come for a test, I had already explained that I hadn't had one for 15 years, used a pc for 6 hours a day so thought I should have one. The optician recommended I probably would benefit by some glasses for close screen work only. Inwas then in the hands of another optical consultant who had to repeat the field test, my signed copy agreement from the university for the test had been replaced and I then had to speak to someone from EyePlan in the middle of the store giving personal details inc payroll number to obtain a code. I was informed that I would be entitled to some glasses from the £50 or £75 range, after choosing the frames and having them checked they would be suitable, the consultant had to ring Boots as the information he had inputted was not allowing him to proceed with the code. I was informed that I wouldn't be entitled to the glasses but could have 15% off, I declined and was told to "see how it goes" and can always recheck at next test to see if prescription had changed - the prescription I believe was 0.25 this does not qualify free glasses for VDU even though yhe optician had recommended them for work. All very unsatisfactory. I would appreciate a response to this.

It was a good experience overall. Although a little more help when choosing a glasses would be helpful.

All the staff were very helpful but a special mention for the optometrist who had a really lovely manner about her and took time and effort to explain everything she was doing. G
